John Edwards: Study in stupid
Nat. Post ^ | 8/10/08 | Diane Francis

His $400 haircut was the first clue that this guy was a first-class narcissist

Just around the time the above photo was taken, during the hotly contested primaries, John's ex-girlfriend was giving birth to a baby girl who, he claims, is not his even though he paid the mother hush money to keep it all quiet. After denying any shenanigans and bad-mouthing the media for perpetuating hurtful rumors, the dummy went on the tube and admitted that he had had an affair after all.

This proves, by the way, that the National Enquirer now can boast that it employs one of America's best investigative journalistic teams. They scooped everyone on the baby's existence and staked out Edward's recent, late-night visit with mother and daughter.

After weeks of nasty remarks about the Enquirer John "Pretty Boy" Edwards finally confessed on television that he had an affair with the woman but it ended months before the baby could have been conceived. But John, an expert litigator, won't give anyone the evidence of this and has refused to take a paternity test. He also claims that he's always been happily married, apart from this one little lapse. Yeah sure.

Then he and his wife Elizabeth pulled a Clinton move. She posted a blog this weekend blasting the media for not leaving her family alone and asked for privacy. Privacy? This is a woman who encouraged her husband to run, knowing that this would have to eventually be found out, because the two of them wanted to live in a goldfish bowl called the White House for the next four years as Mr. and Mrs. Haircut.

All of which proves that the Edwards are about as ruthless and narcissistic as are the Clintons who have spent years pretending they were happily married.

The obvious question that I haven’t heard in the MSM, of course, is if Edwards ended his relationship with Hunter long ago, and if the child is not his, why did he meet with her in the hotel?

His wife vouching for him really bothers me. Just what is important to these people? Making sense or making money. What will their kids say when they find out that Dad fooled around and Mom took his side publicly?

. Johnny simply let his brain succumb to his lust.

Lust? Maybe. No telling if he's fond of men and children, but he evidently warms to females. Ego? Definitely. Integrity is not a virtue in politics. Ambition, narcissm, an d cunning is. The appearance of virtue is just the means to a political end: power. Anything deeper than that is just wasted energy as far as voters --yes, I said voters, the electorate --- are concerned. Integrity and morality are going to get short shrift when both voters at the bottom and the elite at the top are all obsessed with getting their share of government largesse at all levels of government.

The author is asleep. Edwards paid his ex-gf to refuse to allow a DNA test specifically so that he COULD freely offer to have a paternity test done, which he did. For example, from the previous day's Washington Post:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2059197/posts -- Edwards's Ex-Mistress Will Not Pursue Paternity Test:

Rielle Hunter, the former presidential campaign aide who had an affair with John Edwards, said yesterday that she will not pursue DNA testing to establish the paternity of her 5-month-old daughter, despite the former senator's offer to participate in such a test.
This article was poorly researched, or written speculatively.

Republican wives dump the jerk.

Democrat wives stand beside him at the podium starry-eyed like the morons they are for having married the guy in the first place.

Watch Michelle when we find out about Obama’s secrets.

Apparently, Edwards never heard of Gary Hart.

Note also what the author said about McCain. Could be little more than idle speculation, but...

It's been suggested, reasonably, that the hush money paid to the bimbo came from campaign funds. A level of fraud that could result in multiple felonies and prison time. Elizabeth may be ready to kill him, but it more likely concerned of the prospect of her own death and the well being of her children if her slimeball husband serves time for being a supreme scumbag. So her vouching for him is the lesser path of potential disasters at this point.

The NE general manager keeps saying that there’s more to come. He might just be sensationalizing to hype sales, but at least you know they have plenty of video. He hints at their certainty that the child is Edwards and he also hints that there is funny business with Hunter’s payoffs and also that Hunter might not be the only woman Edwards has dallied with.

We’ll see.

“A level of fraud that could result in multiple felonies and prison time.”

That is very true. Knowing that she has a terminal disease she may be trying to ensure that they will have a parent (with them) if anything were to happen to her. That is really sad for her.

Like Clinton, Edward’s seems to think he can continually insult everyone’s intelligence and get away with it. Sadly, this seems to still be true among the “faithful” who defend him on the net.

No, Republican wives usually don’t dump cheaters either. Women married to politicians know most of them are narcissistic louts. They get more power and money by staying married to them.
