Much ado about nothing.

Just like about a zillion politicians before him, he says we’re not just a Christian nation, but a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Hindu nation, etc.

There’s plenty to dislike about BHO, plenty of positions to disagree with him on. This isn’t one of them.

His speech writers certainly are a group of moral relativists.

“Much ado about nothing.”

Then why respond?

This isn’t news or current events, it’s been posted here a thousand times. We have a lot better stuff to hang around Obama’s neck than year-old platitudes that happen to be factually correct.

“His speech writers certainly are a group of moral relativists.”

So is he. They all fit well together.

Yes. I doubt that he has very little input in the speeches he recites.

I am not an apologist for Obama, but this kind of parsing crap is not even worthy of the Clintons.

In the context of the speech he indicates that we are not just a Christian nation any more. “We are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, ....”

Is he wrong? I know members of all of those religions.

There is so much to dislike this guy about. Why stoop to picking out line from a longer speech.

We can do better than this.

This is what he’s learned from his past lowlife friends.

Tear down everything American and project yourself as the one with all the answers.

As the saying goes: This sh*t’s getting old.

And without a speech-writer, he has very little output.

;-)

As with most politicians of todays breed, he is dangerous.

“There is so much to dislike this guy about. Why stoop to picking out line from a longer speech.”

I’ve never in my life heard an American politician refer to this country and a “Muslim nation” - regardless of larger context.

Have you?

The h311 we are! BHO is THE Muslim Candidate, and he isn’t even being that secretive about it.

“We have a lot better stuff to hang around Obama’s neck than year-old platitudes that happen to be factually correct.”

It is NOT factually correct!!!

To describe a nation as a “Muslim nation” means that Muslims, Islam etc. have made enough of a mark on a nation’s history or character that the nation can properly be described as significantly Muslim in nature.

Can Indonesia properly be called an “Amish nation”?

Can Russia properly be called a “Pentecostal Nation”?

Can Nigeria properly be called a “Buddhist Nation”?

No. Because even thought their may be adherents living there, they have not made any significant mark on the history, nature or character of those countries.

This is only objectionable to those who think we are, or should be, a Christian nation.

I don’t want to get into a nit-picking discussion. While those might have been the words he said, in the context that is not the meaning. It is pretty clear that he was trying to indicate that the world has changed and we have a greater diversity (I apologize for using that word....I hate it) of beliefs.

Have I ever heard anyone say that we are a nation made of up of many religions? And that we are a nation of religious freedom? Sure....tons of times.

Can we focus on the socialist and communist economic policies of this fool, and stop trying to convince people his is a card carrying member of Al Queda? That dog ain’t gonna hunt.

The founding fathers that gave us the freedoms we enjoy based on the principles they found in the Bible would find that statement idiotic. They themselves wrote that once Christianity was gone so would our freedoms that the two were tied together, because only a moral people can govern themselves, amoral people prey on their neighbors and need government to step in to control them.

All societies have one religion or other or even anti-God, as the foundation of their societies.

Our founding and the basis for it is what makes us totally unique in the world. We were not just founded by Christians but vast majority Protestant Christians. Come on, Central and South America were also founded by Christians just not Protestants...see a difference???

Still think that religion does not matter to the freedoms of a country just look at islamic countries, or those that are anti-God.
