CLARK LAKE As a lifelong Republican and former Republican prosecuting attorney, I am very disappointed in John McCain.
In 2000, I voted for John McCain for president because he was an independent, nonpartisan Republican.
I could not then tolerate George Bush because he clearly lacked the judgment and wisdom to be a president who could be respected around the world. Time has proven this to be true, to our national disgrace.
By authorizing his staff to run television ads trying to link Sen. Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton smacks of desperation. We do not need another desperate president like George Bush who was desperate to get us into Iraq just so he could be re-elected in 2004.
If John McCain reverses field to tell us why we should elect him, I will reconsider. But cheap political stunts like linking irresponsible Hollywood personalities to a candidate for president will not gain the support of serious voters.
The last time a Republican candidate for president tried to claim that a Democratic opponent was lacking in experience was in the Nixon/Kennedy race. Nixon claimed Kennedy was too Catholic and too young. But once in office, Kennedy prove to be a smart president who saved us from a nuclear confrontation with the Soviets over Cuba and made sure that the Berlin airlift stopped the Soviet effort to crush West Berlin.
As a lifelong independent Republican voter and officeholder, I can only hope that John McCain will abandon the advice of the negative Republican attack machine and tell us why he is most qualified to be our president.

“As a lifelong Republican and former Republican prosecuting attorney, I am very disappointed in John McCain.”
Dude there are a few reasons not to vote for McCain and about 2 dozen reasons not to vote for the rat candidate. But not voting for McCain because he is using what you call negative material tells me you are a naive rube. Go vote marxist schmuck, if it will make you FEEL better.
He is a lying POS dumbarse!
LLS
Republican my ass. Regardless of what party his is registered with, he is not a Republican. He somehow has rewriten history exactly like the Democratic party does.
This moron has been reading to many Harry Turtledove books

So, his job was what? Prosecuting Republicans?
The reason those of Cuban descent often vote Republican is because they still remember the Bay of Pigs.
.Lawyers are systemic liars -
What ridiculous doublespeak drivel! I suppose Obama is more deserving of the vote because he is so independent and nonpartisan. The only independent minded Democrats on the national scene have been driven out of the party.
What is this BS? This is an election! I notice when liberals don’t like hearing something that is the truth they accuse their opponents of being negative. It’s a disgusting little tactic that they use. This only became an issue after they decided that they couldn’t win elections anymore by being honest about what they were, around the time the Clintons showed up. What a “negative” effect those traitors have had on our political system!
Yes but that would’ve been a cvotein the Primary process not a vote for President, see?

Yep. Whole ball of wax.
You have a job opening. You get the above two resumes.
Which one you gonna hire? (And 'affirmative action' doesn't apply.)
Why would McCrazy be desperate? He has this election in the bag, barring something truly drastic happening over the next 3 months.
The “true believer” union Democrats are the worlds worst ignoramuses. My brother, who was required to join the union to keep his job with the telephone company, kept in touch with former colleagues after he retired. One day he got an email from a woman, a “true believer”, who had been laid off. She was complaining that “that damn Reagan taxed my unemployment benefits.” My brother did a quick web search and found that in 1979 Jimmie Carter, the worst president ever, signed a bill that the Democrat-controlled congress had passed making unemployment benefits taxable. My brother sent her the link and she refused to believe the truth right before her eyes.
Play “Spot the Idiot.”
I can spot the idiot in four words.
Almost to a person, not a single one of these "lifelong Republicans" was ever a Republican.
This joker reminds me of those clowns who call Limbaugh and Hannity thanking them for saying negative things about Obamy and telling them who much they are helping Obamy by doing what they are doing. The clowns then tell Rush and Sean that they need to stop doing it. I don’t get it. If Rush and Sean are helping Obamy by going negative on him, it would seem as though they would want Rush and Sean to keep it up. Going “negative” works every time it’s tried. The voters love mudslinging.
First, I sincerely doubt Mr. Hurst’s credibility. Second, I’m still waiting for John McCain to go negative or to engage in anything that isn’t well sourced. If amplifying Obama’s own words is negative, then perhaps we should be talking about Obama’s brown-shirt tactics.
Second, I doubt the importance of the people who “published” this drivel. He wasn’t even good enough to get regional attention.
This guy is probably looking for a federal judgeship or a U.S. attorney position if Obama becomes President.
Trust me.
