"Joe Lieberman, the former Democratic vice-presidential nominee who has endorsed John McCain, is being vetted as a potential running mate for the Republican presidential hopeful, according to an adviser to Mr McCains campaign."
"Conservatives would be pissed as hell I think you would have a revolt, but sometimes John does what John wants to do, the McCain adviser said.

YAWN!
Read #52 and #61...and get back to me.
I said that among the 200,000+ registered FReepers...only about 200 are in a perpetual state of bitchiness.
That’s .001 percent, for all of you in Rio Linda...as Rush would say.

Fred Thompson is a good conservative. Fred is not a libertarian, however. Never heard you speak out in his support either. Funny, I never thought Fred`s campaign was DOA. In fact, for 8-9 months in 2007, Fred was challenging Giuliani for the top spot in most polls. Rasmussen even had Fred overtaking Giuliani, before all hell broke loose.
I’ve got it right. You supported Giuliani and later on Romney, but you don’t have the guts to admit it now. Today, it seems like you’re promoting McCain’s centrist policies over the conservative agenda.
I want to win too. Just not according to your wishy-washy political vision.

In my book, what you posted in #52 and #61 borders on trashing hardcore conservatives -— us Reaganites and extremist FReepers -— with pejorative rhetoric.
You don’t sound like a conservative to me. You sound like someone whose taken with the more moderate politics of the centrist, John McCain.

McCain doesn't give a damn about the average US citizen. He was corrupted years ago and most are blind, or have selectively refused to see it.
Easier that way. They pretend that it is patriotic to vote for McCain. McCain is merely an advancement who is designed to win. Obama is the real goal.

Today, it seems like youre promoting McCains centrist policies over the conservative agenda. Not at all.
Just recognize that we have a better chance of a Roberts or Alito with Obama slithering back to Illinois.
I am intelligent enough to realize demanding ROE v WADE be repealed on the national level isn't a winning proposition for any Republican to embrace.
I am also intelligent enough to recognize 'pandering applause lines' when McCain uses them.
Are you?

Get with the program. Conservatives are being purged. Can you see it yet?
Advancement of liberalism/socialism is the goal this time.
Like most conservatives, we want the best for the US...these others only want the best for what benefits themselves.

I detest hardcore extremists (your words not mine) in any clothing. And wrapping yourself in the American flag...claiming the high ground...won't wash.
I am every bit a Patriot and Reagan worshiper as you are.

We need to keep pushing McCain to do the right thing. Sure. Except that Juan is a "maverick" who tends to do the left thing.

You are wrong. It is ok to poke extremists with sharp sticks to get their attrntion. Extremists will never prevail and must be encouraged to see reason in order to make them relevent in a presidential election.

Well survive 4 years of Che Obama but this would send the GOP and conservativism back 50 years.
I'm more than willing to suffer through four years of Obama if it meant that the GOP would move back to the right instead of their slide to the left.
Unfortunately, the GOP leadership would take a loss in November as a sign they weren't moderate enough (read: didn't move enough to the left). 2006 Didn't seem to wake them up, we'll see if 2008 will wake them up and realize they have lost Conservatives.

The “right thing” to McCain has nothing to do with the US citizen, it has to do with his global handlers that he bows to to have his name placed in history.
He and Obama bow to the same master. We are allowed to vote as an amusement. Makes us think we can have “hope” and “change”. What a freakin’ joke.

Yesterday, I received 4 letters from John and his wife asking for money. This man has very large ones. He insults the hell out of me as a conservative, gives my President a kick in the ass at all opportunities, fauns over the MSM, who will slit his throat at the earliest opportunity, takes immense pride in working with the disloyal opposition, and has the stones to ask me for money.
I may have to vote for him, but my money is going to all the loyal conservatives running for Congress, and the Supreme Court in my great state of Texas. John can use Cindy’s money. If you want to be a Maverick, pay your own way.
