Few Americans Know Barack Obama's Real Position on Abortion Part One of Two Editor's note. Please read Part Two for more about an exciting new web site. First, a quick thanks to all of you who have read this week's series on pro-abortion Sen. Barack Obama and pro-life Sen. John McCain and took the time to respond at daveandrusko@hotmail.com. Since there are more components to this discussion than even I thought, this dialogue will extend into next week. Let me complete this week with a critical clarification. As I've explained many times in this space, there are a ton of people, good people, who have been so caught up in the "audacity of hope" that their first instinct is to respond defensively, when not angrily, to any substantive discussion of Obama's rhetoric and record.
What we've done this week--and will continue to do next week--is to ask the crowds marching in the streets to look to their right and to their left--to read and to hear what Obama writes and says about abortion (on demand) and what legal status he believes a baby who survives an abortion deserves (none). Truth be told a huge swathe of the American public simply does not know Senator Obama's position on abortion, and that would include many swept up in Obama's "authenticity." Consider the following confusion, which will be clarified, if you help. Bottom line: Obama is an abortion-on-demand guy. Rhetorically, he is all warm and fuzzy. His voting record is brutal. This is a truth known to only a small percentage of the American public. In June The Polling Company asked 800 likely voters a couple of questions which illuminate the darkness. First, respondents were asked, "Do you think Sen. Barack Obama is pro-life or pro-choice on abortion?" Only 44% said Obama was pro-choice while 43% said they didn't know. Amazingly, 10% said he was pro-life. On this baseline question, 53% (43% + 10%) didn't know that Obama was "pro-choice" or actually thought he's pro-life. Responses to a more detailed question demonstrated that the confusion goes much deeper. The respondents were asked, "Which of the following statements most closely reflects Barack Obama's position on abortion?" Only a tiny minority came anywhere near understanding the depth and breadth of Obama's support for abortion. A total of 20% believed he took the pro-life position: Abortion should be prohibited in all circumstances (4%); legal only to save the life of the mother (6%); or legal only in cases of rape, incest, and to save the life of the mother (10%). A total of 29% said Obama's position was that abortion would be legal for any reason, but not after the first three months of pregnancy (12%) legal for any reason, but not after the first six months of pregnancy (7%); or allowed at any time during a woman's pregnancy and for any reason (10%). A whopping 49% said they didn't know! This significance of this confusion is both clear and scary. A total of 69% of likely voters said either that Obama took a pro-life position --20%-- or didn't know --49%. (And as noted, another 12% incorrectly thought Obama supported abortion on demand but only through the first three months.) Put another way, only 10% of the American public knows that Barack Obama believes abortion should be legal at any time and for any reason. Obama's wholly out-of-the mainstream position is an uncomfortable truth for the junior senator from Illinois, one that his campaign will continue to try to keep covered up. I hope you will spread the word. Your help in getting the truth out is indispensable. Please send me your comments at daveandrusko@hotmail.com. Part Two -- Invaluable New Resources |

Invaluable New Resources — Part Two of Two
Whether you are able to carve out five minutes or five hours or five days out of your busy schedule, itll quickly become obvious that there is more information about the 2008 presidential election than any of us can possibly peruse. That is why it is hats off to NRL PAC for the creation of two new invaluable websites.
They are http://www.stopobamainfo.org/ and http://www.mccainprolife.org/. What will you find there? Glad you asked.
There are video montages of Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama discussing abortion. This allows you to watch both candidates tell you (in their own unfiltered words) what they think. What you will see and hear are real eye-openers. This is incredibly important because sizable percentages of the American public do not know Senator McCains position on abortion or Senator Obamas position on abortion.
There is an Interactive Form that allows you to forward the links to your family and friends. The accompanying text gives a thumbnail (but comprehensive) overview of each candidates position and voting record. But there is much more.
Under Where do the Candidates Stand on Life? youll find a link to a page that compares the two presidential candidates. That page can also easily be downloaded and distributed.
At the bottom (under How you can Help Save Lives in November) youll find a wealth of information. To begin with the interactive map of the United States allows you to quickly connect to your NRLC State Affiliate. In addition, there is a petition you can sign (America Does Not Agree with You, Senator Obama”); a way of keeping your friends and family updated; and a ton of factsheets, candidate comparison sheets, and interactive videos.
You can also read various “Today’s News and Views” articles on the candidates, both background articles and the very latest information.
Please don’t wait another day. Visit http://www.stopobamainfo.org/ and http://www.mccainprolife.org/
Please FreepMail me if you want on or off my Pro-Life Ping List.

What an irony, given the history of the pro-aborts.
Senator Bob Casey Jr of Pa. creates the aura that Barack is Pro Life.
Bishop James Clifford Timlin of the Scranton Diocese is strong supporter of Bob Casey, JR.
Hence, Barack Obama must be Pro Life!!!

Just using the word “position” indicates that it is temporary. Perhaps they meant “belief” or “long held opinion”?
"Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called 'too close to infanticide.' Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed he would not want his daughters to be 'punished with a baby' because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life."

He’s a despicable man. Not surprisingly, that is precisely what the Democrat party longs for to return to the White House. They still worship, yes W-O-R-S-H-I-P the disgusting sinkEmperor.
too bad his mother didn’t practice her right to choose...
To bad his mother wasn’t Pro-Life and instilled it in her children.
A few knew.
Good Info..
Obamma Lamma Ding Dong is in favor of abortion for all at all phases of the pregnancy.
Partial birth abortion is one of his favored causes also.
This “family guy”, is a baby murderer.
And he wants it available for underage girls without parental notification.
What a peach this “magic negro” is.
1) On March 30, 2001 Obama was the ONLY Illinois senator who rose to speak against a bill that would protect babies who survive late-term abortion
2) In 1997 Obama voted in the Illinois Senate AGAINST a bill designed to prevent partial birth killing of alive, sensing unborn children
3) Obama has consistently voted to expand embryonic stem cell exploitation
4) Obama has consistently voted against requiring minors to notify their parents if they seek or obtain an out of state abortion
5) Obama is a zealous supporter of planned parenthood which operates the greatest percentage of their killing clinics in balck and under priviledged neighborhoods
6) Obama has told Planned Parenthood that if he is elected president he will prevent opponents of Roe v Wade from being appointed to the Supreme Court
7) Obama has consistently ignored the FACT of the great harm abortion has done to the African-American communities
