Missouri: McCain Now Leads By Seven in Classic Swing State
Rasmussen Reports ^ | August, 8, 2008 | Rasmussen

John McCain leads Barack Obama by seven percentage points in the race for Missouri’s Electoral College votes.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Missouri shows John McCain attracting 48% of the vote while Barack Obama earns 41%. This is the third time in the last four months that McCain’s support has been at 47% or 48%. The one exception came in early June—McCain’s support dipped as Obama was wrapping up the Democratic Presidential nomination.

Rational people, ie people outside liberal enclaves in LA, SF, NY, etc, are waking up to the dangers of Obama.

Has anybody in the past century won the White House without winning Missouri?

Interesting to watch the polls shift.

It was such a compelling question, I looked up the answer:
Since 1904, Missouri has always voted for the eventual winner of the election in a presidential election, with the single exception of the 1956 election.

But can we balance out the irrational racist voters voting for the Chosen one?

Apparently, Obama hasn’t shown much to the “show me” state.

This gives you-know-who an even stronger case to make to the superdelegates that Nobama is too weak to be the candidate for the Dems.

“But can we balance out the irrational racist voters voting for the Chosen one?”

Good point, because you know if Obama loses the MSM will spin it that he lost because Americans, in particular RED state Americans, are racist.

It's not like we were winning a whole lot of black votes anyway. Any democrat candidate would get at least 90% of the black vote. My fear is not that Obama will get 100%, but that he will get 120%.

Obama may ultimately tell us two things about America, (if we’re lucky):

#1 - America is ready for a black President.

#2 - America is not ready for a racist, Marxist, muslim sympathizing black President.

Hard to imagine that this won’t be a 56-state landslide. (D.C. and Massachusetts will go for Obama, most likely.)

Yep it’s interesting to see the state by state breakdowns. There was a poll showing Obama’s lead in liberal Massachusetts was much smaller than previously. Obama will carry states such as Mass, NY, Calif, etc.

Missouri was a state Obama had high hopes for. Battleground states are where the election will be won or lost. McCain will carry much if not all of the south, and much if not all of the midwest/great plains states.

Maybe the biggest of the battleground states will be Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida. I predict if either man wins 3 of these 4 states, he will win the election.

Thanks for the research. So if there’s a true “bellweather” state out there, Missouri is a good bet. Keep an eye on polls from there.

Yeah, there was, if you could call going from a 23 point lead to a 9 point lead "much smaller than previously". In places where Obama should have a commanding two digit lead, he's either has only a one digit lead, or is actually within the MoE, or a statistical dead heat. He's in some real trouble here...

Let’s not forget the impending vote cheating. The clintons raised it to a scale never seen before, and I suspect that it will be even worse in this next election. Bush and the Republicans have done absolutely nothing to deal with it.

Let’s not forget that Obama is backed by the Chicago Mob.

Nobody knows the numbers, but maybe it will rise from 10 million bogus votes to as many as 15 or 20 million. The three biggest areas for cheating are illegal aliens, inner city voting machines, largely controlled by blacks, and college students who vote in two or three states. (They can easily vote where they live, where they attend college, and in recent years in neighboring states, where they are bussed by activist organizers.)

All of these groups will be willing putty in the hands of the Obama machine.
