Hence my earlier point about quantity having a quality all its own.

If it comes down to a prolonged conflict, I fully expect Georgia to lose. I also expect the Russians to take hideous casualties, far more than they could possibly expect.

They’re fighting Georgians trained and equipped with US and Western gear. Sales claims to the contrary, Russian gear just *isn’t* as good as Western counterparts, even their front-line stuff.

I recall from articles in the past several months regarding this tension that Turkey announced that they would enter any war on Georgia’s side if Russia came full bore. It would be interesting to see if that really happens. This could be a war that drags other nations in whether they want to or not.

I wouldn't count The Georgeon’s out as Russia is laying claim to Georgia's Homeland. History is full of like people rising to crush their would-be invaders...
