McCain will beat Obama in Mass., I’ll beat Kerry, Beatty says
http://www.politickerma.com ^ | August 5, 2008 | Jeremy P. Jacobs

"People see him for what he is," Beatty told PolitickerMA.com referring to Obama. "Obama is shallow. He's an empty suit. He doesn't have the relevant experience to work the country out of its problems and John McCain does. I've been advocating an action policy to solve these problems and that's resonating with voters. That's why I'll say McCain is going to carry Massachusetts and I'm going to beat John Kerry."

The Beatty camp contends that McCain is gaining ground in Massachusetts because Bay State voters are not comfortable voting for Obama. Obama's recent shifts in position on energy policy, they say, have raised doubts about where Obama stands. At the same time, they say, McCain's brand remains strong among unenrolled voters in Massachusetts.

Beatty said Massachusetts voters may be reluctant to support a candidate about whom they know little after Gov. Deval Patrick's (D-Milton) missteps after he first took office.

"It's a function of knowing your voters," Beatty said, "being out there and listening to them. They've seen this movie before; it was John Kerry and Deval Patrick the first time it came out. They don't' want to see the John Kerry and Barack Obama version of the movie."

Kerry and Obama have both lost some ground in the past few months. If they focus on energy and hit Kerry hard on the negative they might have a slim chance. Romney as VP won't do it. If Romney were running against Kerry I think he could win.

This would get a Republican censured at the very least.

Governor Deval Patrick truly continues to be a disappointment, and this is also a reason for Massachusetts being critical of Barack Obama.

Howie has had Kerry’s opponent in the Dem primary (yes
there is one, Ed O’Reilly) on a few times and is promoting a kind of mini-operation Chaos (indies, take a Dem ballot
in primary and vote AGAINST Kerry). I have seen a couple
O’Reilly signs here in Beverly. Nothing for Beatty yet

McCain could well take Massachusetts.

Also, Mitt would be a drag on McCain in Massachusetts. Mitt’s bent over too many Republicans.

No. McCain has no chance to take Massachusetts. The last republican to take Mass was Ronaldis Maximus. McCain will do well in the middle class burbs on the North Shore, South Shore and the Cape. But he will get crushed in the citys like, Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Brockton, Fall River and New Bedford. Hussein will also crush him in the big moonbat communities like, Amherst, Lexington, Swellsley and Deluxebury.

Beatty’s nutz......Kerry will win with at least 60% of the MA vote....especially since the senior Senator is ailing.

I've talked to a lot of union/working class Democrats. No way are they voting for Obama, or a Deval Patric again. High income, elite school lefties, yeah. Cops, steelworkers nada. McCain as a anti-Republican as portrayed in the media, is their guy.
