Wednesday night, Barack Obama was grilled by local reporters after he appeared at a Minneapolis fundraiser. One of the reporters questioning Obama was 9-year-old Eleanor Korum of Hudson, Wis.
Eleanor entered a Time Magazine for Kids contest. Her essay made it into the local paper and out of 500 entries she made it into the top 20 to become one of the magazines young reporters.
Eleanor got to ask the Senator two questions: the first one on the environment, the second question was about race.
Eleanor asked Obama, "Do people treat you differently because of the color of your skin?"
Obama, replied, "I think that we have a history in this country where people have been treated differently because of the color of their skin or their religion ... sometimes in the past, women weren't treated the same as men but we've made a lot of progress. We still have a little more progress that we have to make."
Eleanor said she was nervous.
"It was really exciting because I have never seen a real Senator like this -- only like on TV and stuff," she said.
She said she had no advance invite to the Obama news conference, she just showed up and took advice from another reporter.
"He said just keep on walking until someone tells you can't go any farther," she said.
On Thursday, Eleanor was back at work shooting a video outside of the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, the site of the Republican National Convention.
Eleanor's Mom, Suzy Korum, said the whole family is incredibly proud of her.
"It's been a fair amount of work on her part," said Suzy Korum.
Eleanor should find out in a few weeks if she gets the job at Time Magazine for Kids.

How can that be? It's obvious that his "pastor" of 20 years,"Reverend" Wright,is an atheist.
I have noticed a trend in the media's behavior whenever discussing Obama.
The MSM people usually make at least 1-2 comments in each article, report or story about Obama's "Christianity."
The people in the media control room know that this guy is an atheist/closet muslim/homosexual/whatever, and is far from anything related to Christianity.
However, the MSM's Leninist plan is to repeat their lie often enough so that they can make us believe it to be truth.
They are all evil, and I see what they are doing.
You bet, kiddo. They aren't allowed to mention my middle name. They can't talk about my wife or kids. People can't mention the fact that I'm skinny. And don't even think of telling a joke about me.
The media never challenges the assertion that Obama is a Marxist. Doesn’t even mention it is a controversy about why voters fear an Obama presidency.
Nope, only hear about virility, racism, more successsful than beer swilling blue collar workers...
The more I hear about stuff like this the more I get creeped out about Obama.
Only a meglomaniac would use children as political tools the way Obama does. I’m not talking about cases where the supporters of a politician, on their own and seperate from any official activity, have their children engage in some sort of political rally. This is his campaign using impressionable children as props for his own gain; and this is definitely not the first time. The Obamajugend crap is beyond creepy and needs to be stopped.

I don’t have to look at the video. I’m sure that all it shows is Obama starring as an unarmed opponent in a battle of wits with a 9 year old.
It was an unfair matchup — Obama was at a disadvantage. The 6-year-olds at CNN are more his speed.
