First Out-of-State Same-Sex Couple Marry in Northampton, MA
CBS 3 Springfield, MA ^ | 08/07/08 | Miranda Grossman

Scott Armstrong and Steve Payer traveled from Michigan to say their "I do's" in Northampton. They are the first out-of-state same-sex couple to wed in Northampton.

Last week, Governor Patrick repealed the 95 year old law which made marriage legal in Massachusetts, only if it was legal in the state you came from. The couple has been together for 17 years.

"This is the first way we've had of solidifying what we've already known for all this time," said Armstrong.

"I am a little nervous, but we have been together so long, that we've already gone through our trials and tribulations like any couple," said Payer.

Even though their commitment is legal in the Baystate, it's still not legal back in their home state of Michigan.

They are not married.

I can call my dog a cat but that doesn’t mean it can climb a tree.

It’s pretend.

And in fact, their home state of Michigan passed a constitutional amendment banning homosexual marriage.

One of these couples, someday, will take the case to federal court. These guys could be a test case since their state bans homosexual marriage. Since they can’t go through their state courts, they would have to go to federal court.

the question is, where will they get divorced, next year? Presumably in Mass as well.

NoHo, San Francisco East. The land of 50 year old career college students and trustafarians.

All of these people are jumping on the gay bandwagon because it's fashionable. 30 years ago these same people wouldn't have given the same gender a second thought, and would've happily married the opposite sex - and maybe stayed married while raising children.

It's the media and Political Correctness.

You got that right.Sounds like you're familiar with the area. You may or may not have heard of Howie Carr, who's a Boston talk host who grew up in western Mass.He calls the area "Happy Valley".Pretty much sums it up.

There's a case in Rhode Island of two lesbians who got "married" in Mass and are now asking the RI courts to divorce them. The RI courts are refusing to do so because,in RI,they're not even considered to be married. And the lesbians have gone ballistic...crying homophobia, etc.

As President Lincoln once phrased this proposition:

''Calling a tail a leg does not make the tail a leg.''

Aside from the obvious DUH! regarding that sentiment, I'm afraid Mr. Lincoln wouldn't know whether to shjt or go blind watching today's faggot follies, in several states.

Perhaps RI could bring in an imam who might spin around and declare ''She divorces thee' 3 times?

Or, this situation MIGHT allow for the employment of an otherwise unemployable gang-banger as 'referee', as in:

''Whachu two dumbiches talkin' 'bout hyah? Get outta mah face.''

Or, perhaps, we taxpayers should subsidise these two for the rest of their lives, due to their emotional damage.

Not advocating a position, but I'm reasonably sure that a couple of .22 cartridges are cheaper than any of the above.

Just musing, here.

Gee, what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? DO ya think it could happen again?

Billy Grahams wife summed it up very well. "If G_d doesn't do something about San Fran, then he owes S&G an apology."

mASSachutesits wants a share of the wrath also.

I try to catch his show at least twice a week.

I been to NoHo a few times. If I remember correctly the city hall looks like a castle. There were a lot of guys with grey hair and pony tails and old ladies with round glasses(I call them refugees from the 60's). Not to mention many female couples.
