Condi: America will be fine under President Obama

Indeed it will, unless you believe the power of The One is such that he can lay low even the mightiest of nations. Then again, “fine” is a subjective term. If, as Condi surely does, you think the west’s six-year tap dance over Iran’s nuclear program is a “fine” way of addressing the problem, replete as it is with ineffectual UN sanctions and time aplenty for Tehran to work out the kinks on mastering enrichment, then yeah — by that standard, President O will be just fine.

“I don’t need another job in government with anybody,” she said. “Look, I’m a Republican, all right? Sen. McCain is a fine patriot, and … he would be a great president. But there’s something to be said for fresh blood. And I know that there are a lot of very good people who could be his vice president.”

During the interview in a regal room at the State Department appointed with chandeliers, rich carpets and cases of porcelain, Rice was asked: “Would you feel safe with a President Obama?”

“Oh, the United States will be fine,” she responded. “I think that we are having an important debate about how we keep the country safe. I think we are having an important debate about our responsibilities, our obligations, our interests in the Middle East in the wake of the now increasing evidence of success in Iraq. Those are important judgments for the American people to make.”

Hmmm.

I think they inject State Department officials with dumb-ass serum upon appointment.

Seriously, this is the final proof anyone would need to know Condi just wasn’t the right person for the job. And many here were calling for her to run for POTUS.

OK all of you Rice supporters who thought she'd be a great VP candidate, where's your reasoning now?

I said back then she didn't have the experience and we didn't know enough about her ideologically to even consider thinking of her as a Veep. But lots of GOP-Firsters (regardless of ideology) thought she'd bring in a lot of votes because of her race.

As I said then, she isn't qualified and she doesn't necessarily represent me ideologically.

She and Powell should start a separate party, an offshoot of the Democrat party, maybe call it the “Took Advantage of the GOP but have no allegiance to conservatives Party. Go ahead and flame away. I am just so sick of these selfish political games. An out-and-out commie is an election from the White House. Unbelievable.”

She’s a disappointment. I’ll be glad to see her go.

Sell out big time. I am disgusted, but of course she wants to be loved. It takes a real strong backbone to stick by your convictions.

Washington is a cesspool.

Based on what I’ve seen out of Condi, she’s closer to “The One” politically than she is to most conservatives. The only way I’d support her for any political office is if she ran for Senate against Babs Boxer. She would be a marginal improvement there.

She didn’t endorse Obama’s ideas or policy proposals. She merely said that the U.S. would survive four years of Obama regardless of how bad he is. And technically she’s right. Obama won’t outright destroy us. He’ll damage our nation, just as Clinton did, but we survived Clinton’s eight years. We’ve survived since 9/11. Our nation is technically still intact, and as far as I can tell - we’re better off than we were at the end of Clinton’s presidency.

The problem is the process of two steps forward three steps back that our nation has been in for the last 75 years. Eventually we could reach a point where the last step is going to be the doozy that we all see coming.

OK, I know I've told this tale a few times...but this as good a
time as any to repeat it once again.

There is a story (apochryphal?) about George Schultz when he
served as Secretary of State.
Supposedly, just before being deployed to their foreign posting,
Sec. of State Schultz would have a personal conversation with
the new State Department employee in his office.

After the exchange of some pleasantries, Schultz would lead the
State Department person over to a large globe of the world.
Schultz would ask them to "point out your country".

Almost invariably, the State Department person would lay their
finger on the country to which they were being deployed.

Schultz would then quietly, but pointedly, say...
"NO, I said point out YOUR COUNTRY."

Marxism, it's just fine, leave your freedoms on counter one, your liberties on counter two, and pick up your government uniform and grey ballcap from the counter over there by the door. Just like they do in Kenya.

I’ve never figured out why so many people are so crazy about Condi, other than that they think she’s a “twofer”. She’ll bring in the black vote and the women’s vote. As if.

From what I’ve seen, she’s incompetent. She’s liberal on abortion. She plays the race card. And she’s insulted Jews. Hardly someone we need on the ticket.

My guess is that in the privacy of the voting booth, she’ll vote for Obama.
