In poll, Obama loses some women supporters of Clinton

Almost 20 percent of women who voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton said they were now John McCain supporters, but Barack Obama was still leading in a poll of female voters.

The Lifetime Network national poll showed that women were coalescing around their candidates but that neither had sealed the deal by breaking the 50 percent mark: Mr. Obama led Mr. McCain 49-38 percent.

"Women will elect the next president," said pollster Celinda Lake, referring to the largest voting bloc in presidential elections. In most primary states, women were 55 percent or more of the electorate.

Married women, who most often tend to be Republican, favored Mr. Obama 44-41 percent. Even though Mr. Obama trailed Mr. McCain among women 65 and older 46-37 percent, he led every other age group.

This is significant -- looks like Obama is losing support, as voters get to know him better, for who he is: a socialist tax raiser, big spender, who will wreck the US economy, doesn't care about the American people, he has no realistic plan for energy independence, and will stop any plan that is realistic. If Obama becomes president, we will remember Carter fondly.

Polls still show a tight race. In the past, though, the Democrat was far ahead in polls in the summer of a presidential election year.

Obama may not get a convention bounce in the polls, since the Dem. convention ends just a few days before the Republican convention, and attention turning to McCain.

Maybe Obama has peaked and will drift slowly downwards between now and election day. If that happens, Dems. are in trouble. It’s possible a big election loss could hurt down ballot Democrats too. Dems. are hopeful of big gains in House and Senate races this year. What will Dems. think if they lose the pres. when this was supposed to be their year, AND, they end up either holding steady or even losing seats in Congress???????

“Obama may not get a convention bounce in the polls, since the Dem. convention ends just a few days before the Republican convention, and attention turning to McCain.”

The Dems have already taken care of that with Obama off to Switzerland during the Republican Convention with the entire of the MSM in tow. Repubs will be lucky to get coverage in the local community coupon weekly.

Obama has no one to blame but himself for his problems.

He keeps lashing out at Senator McCain and President Bush with these ridiculous "racist" charges, but it only makes him look like an even bigger buffoon.

His problems are further amplified by the nasty creatures that he is associated with: Palistinians, abortionists, communists, fascists, homosexuals, criminals, anarchists and other terrible people.

What makes me really angry is that his buddy Pelosi went on a 5 week vacation while Americans are stuck with high gas prices.

It is almost as if the democrats want to lose big come November.

Americans need to remember that Pelosi spends her time socializing with state sponsors of international terrorism before addressing our energy shortages.

Women are a “voting block”? Sheesh, I thought they were just people with the same concerns as other people. But leave it to Democratic pollsters to reinforce stereotypes.

They should be afraid that Obama comes across as such a leftist elitist statist that Republicans come out in droves. If only McCain weren’t the nominee... (and I will go out and vote for him, in fact I may even give him some money (if he can spend it)).

Almost 20 percent of women who voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton said they were now John McCain supporters.

That's about 2 million voters.

I hate traitors more than I hate the enemy. I hate Pelosi more than I hate Assad or Ahmadinejad.

Obama’s fault. It feels good to be able to say that.
