Be with you in a sec. Gotta finish this bag of Cheetos. Man, what a mess down here in Mom's basement. Let's see, where were we? Barnicle. Right. Bloggers. Doesn't think much of us. On this evening's Hardball, decrying the decline of bi-partisanship, Barnicle put much of the blame on the blogosphere.
Subbing for Chris Matthews, Barnicle had as his guest historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. The jumping off point was a clip of Obama saying he could imagine naming McCain as his head of Homeland Security. Barnicle wondered whether that was feasible in what he sees as a hyper-partisan age, and pointed the finger largely at bloggers. Kearns Goodwin suggested that despite the difficulties, she could imagine either of the candidates reaching out to his opponent. That prompted Barnicle to let loose on bloggers, casting them as largely a bunch of loons with too much time on their hands.

Barnicle dumps on bloggers ping to Today show list.
As opposed to crazies with access to cable tv shows....
Bloggers=loons. Good thing they didn’t name names!
Cheers for watching the MSNBC=loons!
And many tv personalities are crazy and access to international, multi-media broadcasting technology. Your colleague Keith Olbermann leaps to mind.
she’s the plagiarist.
They’re both plagiarists.
Mike Barnicle is an elitist snob piece of detritus with access to a TV show. And he’s dumber than dirt.
Of course he doesn’t like it. It is when conservatives are confident and not looking for bi-partisanship that they win because they have better ideas when they put their minds to it. Liberalism can not survive harsh scrutiny eventually you realize that pro-choice isn’t about women making choices it is about killing unborn babies with the goal of liberalizing the sexual morals of women so they are less likely to commit and form traditional two parent families. It isn’t about unity or choice it is about selfishness and satisfying an ugly political agenda.
The same goes for energy issues. When you spend time scrutinizing the environmental activist literature you find not simple good intentioned people looking to save the planet but instead deeply deranged individuals who have at their core a misanthropic goal. Progress for them is not simply less pollution but ultimately less humanity.
We could go on and on issue after issue. The left may think the right is crazy but the right is crazy only in its anger at seeing the rational world being raped by liberals.
You beat me! Only MSNBC would feature a plagiarist interviewing a plagiarist!
And newspapers where they make columns up out of the whole cloth...
Hey, Mike.
We might be crazy, but at least we ain’t plagiarists.
TOO FUNNY, Mr. Barnacle -- in the days when Ted Kennedy and pals savaged Robert Bork and then Clarence Thomas in a grotesque display of character assassination that totally trashed all US Senate traditions of bi-partisanship and collegiality, the WorldWideWeb did not exist and so no one had ever heard of of 'blog' (Web Log).
That was the point (1987-91) at which I, at least, realized that the virulent deranged hateful partisanship of the political left had so infected the Demagogic Party that comity and "bi-partisanship" were no longer intelligent goals or possibilities.
Of course, the Demagogues had been rather awful for a long long time before 1987, but that was when I woke up and said "you can't reason with such vicious hateful dishonest Demagogues!"
The fact that you, Mr. Barnacle, have not realized the extent to which vicious dishonest Demagogues of the left have shaped the last 20-40 years reflects poorly upon you.
btw, Mr. Barnacle, plagiarism is not so good for journalism or for history. Don't you and Doris Kearns Goodwin still have some 'splainin' to do?
I think you've captured the "essence" of the problem completely. The "ignorant bloggers" are fact-checking them, and they darned well don't like it. They live in fear of being "Rathered".
I’m surprised that anybody would put the serial plagiarist Doris Kearns Goodwin on their show to criticize others.
That’s kind of like hosting the aged Charles Manson to say that kids today are no darn good.
Each quoted the other without attribution.
Well, yes, Mike, this is true. What’s your point?
Great photo, two plagiarists side-by-side...... how often do we see that?
btw, Mr. Barnacle, anyone who can waste time watching YOUR show most certainly has “too much time on their hands”
[no offense, Mark!!]
