LOS ANGELES, (AP) -- Authorities say FBI agents have served search warrants at three hospitals and arrested two men in a scheme to recruit homeless people to fraudulently bill government health care programs for millions of dollars in unnecessary health services.
Federal authorities say the searches Wednesday were conducted at City of Angels, Tustin Hospital and Medical Center and Metropolitan Hospital.

My sister forwarded this thread to me, asking me “Have you heard about this?”.
Here’s my answer. Yes, I heard about it 25 YEARS AGO when I lived in Los Angeles. Supposedly, officials were investigating it back then. It’s shameful that nothing ever gets done about it. MediCal is a joke.
Ironically, the reporter’s last line says: “The investigation began in 2006 as Los Angeles police looked into reports that hospitals were dumping homeless patients on Skid Row streets”...happily oblivious to the fact that the LA Times reported the same story almost 3 decades ago.
