Today's Black preachers preach like fundamentalist "windsuckers," but the preaching is all about "the struggle." Considering what Black "chr*stians" have supported in the past in the name of "the struggle," I don't think this will make any difference.
I really would like to know what failings of the U.S. military Obama is referring to. As an institution of man, with lots of political influence over it and within it, I have no illusions that the military is a thing of perfection. But what accusations in particular would Obama level against it? I don’t recall anyone at any time claiming that the military was instituted to express the spiritual nature of the nation.
It was a prototype of God providing Jesus for our sins. It is a very foundational part of both Judaism and Christianity.
He obviously did not read these scriptures before making this speech because the plain text story in both cases is just wrong from his "quote". Even a quick cursory preview of the scripture would have made him change the speech if it was in his power to do so, nobody wants to make a fool out of themselves. This is further proof he just reads his scripts and does not have an opinion that is not placed on his teleprompter. Nor does he understand the most foundational things about the Christian faith yet claims to be a Christian. It is strange, he has many statements to show he does not believe in what Christ says, but I have never heard him quote a scripture or saying of Christ in a positive context.
He speaks like an atheist in the least, and an anti-christ mocker of scriptures at best all the while claiming to be the very thing he is denying. How many times on Freeper do you see the classing "I love Israel, BUT..." from some Jihadi troll.
This guy is as fake as a three dollar bill.
That is where this guy really gets disturbing. He not only uses his professed faith as a tool for self promotion he betrays that faith and attacks it in the same breath. If he is that cynical and malicious towards his spiritual life why would anyone expect him to treat his professed loyalty to America any better?
He is worse than a faker. He is a self-created Trojan Horse and a Trojan Horse is created for one thing only. It is an engine of internal destruction.
What I want to know is, since Obama made the accusation, in what way does the Pentagon fall short of the Sermon on the Mount and how does he envision the military living up to it? Does he want to install holy men in the Pentagon to guide military doctrine? As a Senator perhaps he should look to the log in his own eye since Congress has more to do with the overall direction of the military than either the President or military brass. Of course he hasn't been there long enough to affect the military in the slightest.
A Marxist Utopian with visions of grandeur.
His goal with the “Buddhist nation” comment was to get Buddhists to vote for him, of course. His goal is to get the non-Christian vote, from wherever the source, by attacking his “own faith” in an unsympathetic belittling way. No wonder he sauntered out of Islam and wandered into Christianity with no conversion or change in conviction. To him, its all “socio-political.” This is the view of a hardcore Marxist.
Does anybody remember that speech he gave to a group of evangelicals a few years ago, the “best speech on Religion in America in X years.” Then came the small town comment, now this. Why the change? Is he “testing the waters” for much more of this?

It’s already gone. I didn’t get to see it.
“The only way we are going to stop this blaspheming man , is on our knees.”
Like they said in World War II, PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE AMMUNITION. Thank God that words and prayers are the only ammo needed for this fight [and may we never have to shoot to keep our guns from brown shirts].
Looking back with a cooler head, if Obama says he’s a Christian we must take him at his word. In the heat of the moment I angrily attacked him as the typical atheist I that quotes the Old Testament for no other purpose that to mock the Bible. He only sounded like one.
Hes not anti-Christian, just a ultra liberal politician that draws anti-Christian Marxists as supporters.
And that’s enough to deal with.
