McCain gets loud welcome at Sturgis bike rally (prefers Harley roars to Berliner cheers)
MSNBC ^ | August 4, 2008 | AP

STURGIS, S.D. - Thousands of motorcyclists greeted Republican presidential candidate John McCain with an approving roar Monday as he sought blue-collar and heartland support by visiting a giant motorcycle rally.

"As you may know, not long ago a couple hundred thousand Berliners made a lot of noise for my opponent. I'll take the roar of 50,000 Harleys any day," McCain said, referring to Democrat Barack Obama's recent visit to the German capital.

McCain played to a crowd that paused for a veterans salute. He criticized Obama for supporting a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq while opposing efforts to reduce record-high energy prices.

"My opponent wants to set a date to come home. I want us to come home with victory and honor so we will never go back again," the Arizona senator said.

McCain also criticized Congress for adjourning for a five-week recess without approving a new energy plan.

"Tell em' to come back and get to work," McCain said, yelling into the microphone. "When I'm president of the United States, I'm not going to let them go on vacation. They're gonna become energy independent."

Actually, I am one of those “anti-La Raza, anti-Open Borders, anti-Appeasment” type folks not in support of LIBERAL John McCain. The man is liberal and is a sellout to the core on fundamental issues. That cannot be rationalized away. (Though some RINOs will try here I suppose). Guy is almost as bad as that stinking Obama.

I will be sure to, on the next Scarface campaign sign I see. I will save up a lot of reprocessed beer for the deed, though.

Why a conservative would waste a good vote on McCain is beyond me. The guy is going to get his clocked cleaned by Obambi seven ways to Sunday, so might as well be liberated, and make the vote count and have it parked in with the Electors of a candidate who is Conservative, not a RINO.

At least one will know that one's vote registered on the meter as being a Conservative, and not a liberal Republican.

You are not worried about it (by your words at least) but over in the Eisenhower Building, I can assure you they are certainly worried about independent Conservatives in Nevada, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado who will not accept Juan McShamnesty and his liberal nonsense. RINOs sweating bricks. How sad. How pathetic.

And what, may I ask, precisely is your strategy if, by a long shot, McCain wins, and he goes on to continue with every single LAME ASS liberal position he has done as a two bit, no good US Senator, reaching across for group gropes with the likes of Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy and John Kerry?

The fox will already be in the henhouse.

Will we suffer four or eight years of "Day in the Life of Juan and Cindy" and "Pray for President RINO" here on FR, while he takes us into the collectivist, open borders, amnesty swamp? Them's the realities.

We hear NOTHING about it from RINOs going off the cliff like lemmings behind the pied RINO piper. Just only about how baaaad the big bad wolf Obambi is. That is not enough in my book.

I saw nothing out of line there. He obviously was offended by comments that she had made in other venues about the military.

Ask the South Carolina Republican Party, which denied 2008 Presidential primary debate attendence to candidates who already had delegates, and did not deny access to other candidates who had less or no delegates, because it fit with their nice little tea party. Figure that one it.It is called the Republican Party Establish. I know these people. Take it from me. They could not care jacks**** about Conservatives, they are just using us and will disgard us once it is over, quicker than you can say Jack Robinson. They have done it before.

“One must remember, be it Hillary! Or Obamanation, whoever it is selected by the socialists, will come on board with both Houses of Congress already in the democrat majority, and on either one’s side in their quest to “change” America.

If you thought fighting for your rights, especially the Second Amendment, was hard under a left leaning Bush, You ain’t seen nothing yet when there is no power whatsoever on your side to fight against the old oak tree of Alinsky socialism.

McCain’s views on all other issues are contrary to this Conservative’s beliefs. Be it the Second Amendment, Illegal alien amnesty, global warming, or the host of co-sponsored bills with the liberals, All make my blood boil.

That is, with the exception of his view on the War, the military, and the support of our Troops fighting that conflict.
It is for that reason alone, that I will cast my Vote for that bastard. I believe that all others that support our Troops should do the same, regardless of all other issues. We could still fight the bastard’s insane, liberal views, with the congressional republicans that survive the coming slaughter in November.”

Couldn’t have said it better, so I am just going to help you say it again ; }

And who knows, time, and current events, have been known to bring about a change in people. Even old mavericks...

At least one will know that one's vote registered on the meter as being a Conservative, and not a liberal Republican.

I would rather cast a vote to prevent Obama from taking office than to stand on my conservative high-horse. Why, because the country deserves better than Obama and believe me McCain is better. That said McCain was not my first or second or even third choice, but my goodness look at the alternative. I care more for the future of my country than to let a Marxist take over the presidency.

Maybe that's your problem. I can't stand McCain but I can't stand letting Obama win more. I won't be voting for McCain, but I will vote for him to keep Obama out.

As for Barr. He's no Ross Perot. He'll be lucky not to get beat by Nadar.

50,000 Harleys equates to at least 50,000 voters. At least they CAN vote in November’s election. Not 200,000(?) Berliners. Let them cheer all they want. They don’t have voting rights on this side of the pond.

How many "Freep the White House" events have we had under 7.5 years of liberal policies, such as Shamnesty, put out by GOP President George W. Bush?

Analyze organizational behavior.

McCain wins and it is the end of the GOP as a vehicle for Conservatism. Members of his own party in Congress and many of the rank and file will not oppose him as he goes on to do much of the same things President Obambi will do, particularly as relates to domestic policy and the borders. We are screwed.
