I think keeping the haloed one on the offensive has its perks. It opens up the possibility for more gaffes, more meglomaniacal pontificating (there’s eleven syllables for you), and even more flip flops, or better yet the rarely witnessed flip flop flip.
“Wow, Obama only up by 9 points in Massachusetts; the bluest of the blue states. That should send a shiver up Obamas leg.”
Mass rejected him pretty strongly in the primaries, which was partially overshadowed by Kennedy and Kerry’s rabid support for him. Hillary destroyed him there, and if there’s drama at the nominating convention his numbers could slide even further. The electoral winner-take-all system is unfortunate, I think. A candidate coming from behind is screwed going into the final days of the contest. Representative aportioning California alone would cut about 20 points off Obama’s electoral lead.
McCain’s polling improvement is promising, but there’s a deadline looming. As fast as Obama is bleeding supporters, though, I’m starting to feel a faint hope. “The One” ad is brilliant.
I love that idea — tire gauges in our pockets!
I am enjoying the new John McCain campaign — no grass grows under their feet. I cannot wait to get the tire gauge and I will carry it proudly. Their ads have improved a lot since McKinnon left and now this!
Has there, since the Kennedy campaign, been a Democrat this close going into August?
And they’re stacking the polls.
39% Democrat 25% Republican?
If that’s not stacking, I don’t know what is.
Obama leads by 9 points now after having led by 23 points in June.
