Rush Rides In A Smart Car

Last October, my wife and I were in Italy and saw several of these Smart Cars. My wife asked our hosts if they would drive one of those when they got back to the States.

"Heavens, no!" she said - "I'd get killed by an SUV."

That ugly thing can’t even be a little bit comfortable. I’d rather ride via the “human cattle car” industry.

It looks like Rush’s arm is steering the vehicle (obviously an illusion).

We saw one of these the other day in a parking lot. Some photographer had bought it and had his business name painted on it. The MA license plate on the front reads “SMAAHT” ;o)

You know, I think they would their place in a big city where parking is at a premium, and in suburbs or resort areas where you just need to zip down to the grocery store or to run errands. I just wouldn’t want to take it out on a major highway or toll road. You’d get creamed. But for just buzzing around town, why not, I say. Would be good for retired folks who don’t drive much anymore I would think. And saves on the cost of gas. I’m for any type of vehicle that you want, be it Hummer, SUV, motorcycle, or smart car. You got the money, but it. It’s the capitalistic way. It’s called choice.
