This is just part of the ongoing Balkanization of the US along cultural, ethnic, and linguistic lines. It is a product of our pro-population growth immigration policies that are bringing in 1.2 million LEGAL immigrants a year with close to two-thirds coming from Latin America and an unsecured border that allows another 500,000 to 1 million enter from Mexico and Latin America. In 1965 the Hispanic population of the US was 1%, today it is 16%, and by 2050 it will be 29%.
FYI: The top ten radio stations in LA are all Spanish-speaking.

We will be a hispanic country eventually the way things are going. Given the birthrate of hispanics and the resistance of many to assimilate its just a matter of time. In the nearterm this demographic shift will kill the party. As more of them become voters our chances to win will get worse and worse because as a whole that block loves handouts.

I know perhaps 10 Hispanic Families fairly well. All the children who grew up in the US speak English well. Very few of those who immigrated as adults speak English well. The kids do not watch Spanish TV.
We may be a Hispanic country in the future, but we will be speaking English.
No se preocupa tanto de esto. Tenemos problemas, pero esto no es uno.
