Obama supporters show true colors

Hearing the cable talk-show host solemnly pose the question, I could not suppress a belly laugh.

For the anchor was fearful that some white folks might reject Barack Obama because he is African-American - even as a Rasmussen poll was reporting that Obama is beating McCain among black voters 94 to 1.

What, other than race, explains how Obama rolled up 90-10 margins among black voters while running against Hillary Clinton, wife of the man novelist Toni Morrison dubbed “our first black president”?

Indeed, so one-sided was the primary coverage in favor of Obama as the first African-American with a real chance to be president, even “Saturday Night Live” took to mocking the mainstream media.

As for black radio, on “The Tom Joyner Morning Show,” “Michael Baisden Show” and “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” which together may reach 20 million folks, there is “little pretense of balance,” writes Jim Rutenberg of The New York Times[NYT]. “More often than not the Obama campaign is discussed as the home team.”

Black Entertainment Television plans to carry Obama’s speech to the Democratic convention live, but has no plans to carry McCain’s. Obama’s speech “is an historic occasion,” says BET Chairman Debra L. Lee, “so that demands some special treatment from us.”

As the mainstream media have moved left and talk radio right, and cable is breaking down along political and ideological lines, there is something else afoot now - the racial Balkanization of the newsroom.

The Arizona referendum banning preferential treatment based on race is also on the ballot in the swing state of Colorado. It won in California in 1996, in Washington in 2000 and in Michigan in the great Democratic sweep of 2006. It has never lost, and may just win McCain Colorado, and with it, the nation.

It’s called the Black Bloc Vote for a reason.

Yes, race is an issue in this campaign, and it’s not the white voters who’ve made it so undeniable.

I heard one news pundit say this week that Obama will likely get 98% of the black vote in November.

[That means many black Republicans will probably vote for him. They wouldn’t let the chance to vote for the first real black prez to go by and not vote for him.]

I have a question. When did it become illegal to vote for a white man? When did it become illegal to say you don’t want to vote for a black man......and voice it out loud? When did it become illegal, to say out loud, that you don’t want a black President? What’s being done is reverse discrimination and people are falling for it. I suggest that people vote the way they want to and don’t be afraid to voice their opinions. Isn’t that what this country is all about? I don’t care if the person running for President is Mexican, Asian, White or Black..........I’ll vote for who I want.........regardless of what the PC people say and voice my reasons why.

“It’s called the Black Bloc Vote for a reason.”

An often heard narrative made by left wing blacks is that blacks cannot be racists because they do not have the power to oppress. Does anyone think that if as a group blacks had power, they would be racist? Does this explain Obambi’s black support?

Those narrators should be asked who captured those people and sold them as slaves, who invented it, and who still practices it, who was the first person in this country to practice slavery, were there any black slave owners?

““I don’t think it’s such a bad thing if, for 15 minutes, you take off your reporter hat and respond to (Obama) as a human being at an event where you’re surrounded by people of color and you’re here for a united cause.”

But, of course, it would sacrifice their journalistic integrity if, in the course of covering a story, these demented, leftist assholes uncovered details from our enemies that could lead to the deaths of American troops. No, mustn't reveal such information. They must remain neutral.

When dialog breaks down, violence breaks out.

You betcha. I saw this first hand when I worked in Georgia in the 90s. The whites in power there were SO whipped by the Guilt Thing that they let the blacks run all over them.

Once a black was hired, for ANY position, it then became a job only another black could fill - no matter how better an employee of any other race was. Once a black became a supervisor, the whole staff became black through attrition as no other race was even considered.

We had a friend who was a little slow and for years held a state-subsidized job as a baker. He suddenly got fired when a black supervisor came in. Within months, the restaurant's entire back room was black.

Minorities, as soon as they get on top, are worse in their prejudice than the previous majority, and it is explained away as "they have a good reason" or "they have a lot to make up" - as was told to me by the Georgia dhimmies. I got out of there as soon as I could.

“because they do not have the power to oppress.”

That was never part of the definition of racism, but has been added by the PC police and the thought police to exempt blacks and other minorities from being labeled racist. Of course, they can be and are as racist as any group ever.

And, racism also gets substituted for what is really prejudice and bigotry and other related words because most consider racism to be the most condemning charge.

People just need to start throwing these charges back in the faces of the accusers, or just refusing to even acknowledge them.

Blacks DO have power. And some are racist (look at Jackson, Calypso Louis, etc.). Is asking for specific hiring quotas based on race not racist? Is demanding reparations not racist? Is blaming the white man for all your problems not racist?

I'm not painting all black people with this wide brush, but I am pointing out that there is already racism among some black people.

Playing the 'race card' is racist.

“When did it become illegal to vote for a white man? When did it become illegal to say you don’t want to vote for a black man......and voice it out loud?”

It’s not illegal, just something the PC police and guilt-ridden white people will very self-righteously condemn anyone for saying. But I’d vote for a black man or woman if I agreed with their political philosophy. But the black candidates until Obama came out of the Civil Rights Movement and were mostly one issue candidates. No whites but the guilt-ridden would have even considered voting for those black candidates.

But now that more is being exposed about Obama, he’s not at all the “post-racial” candidate the media and academics claimed he was early on. He’s just a thinly disguised ‘60s radical candidate and a socialist. A million reasons not to vote for this black guy, even more so than Jesse Jackson.

And as more is learned him, that will become even more true. The new book “Obama Nation” by Jerome Corsi looks like it’ll be as powerful as “Unfit for Command” was concerning John Kerry.

I am tired of all Obama supporters and those who want to get on the Obama bandwagon stating that he is "the first black presidential candidate." He IS 50% WHITE. To be correct - Obama is the first bi-racial candidate! If those people want to be Politically Correct as they are always attempting to be, that is what should be said and that is the correct term to be used.

But, it started with Obama who has always worked hard to take advantage of the race card by calling himself "black" and ignoring his white blood and heritage because he knew that would be a racist advantage that would catapult him to politics at this time in our history when whites are so sensitive not to appear racist. And the media and those who want to make it appear they are not racist have erroneously touted him as the first black presidential candidate when that is not the true case. And, to further emphasize the racial aspect we are told that is something we should both applaud ---yet, we should ignore the issue of race when voting. In other words we should not be prejudiced against someone because of the color of his skin, but we should applaud and promote the fact that he is the first black running for the office of President. What a contradiction!

Further...by calling him the "first black presidential candidate," his supporters are ignoring and being prejudicial against his white heritage.

I never heard a single conservative woman say she'd vote for Hillary just to have a woman president. I guess for some of us, principles matter more.

Although, really, we have to wait and see. I wouldn't be surprised if many black conservatives would be afraid to say out loud that they wouldn't vote for Obama. The pressure in the black community to "be black" is tremendous.
