Syrian President's Top Aide Assassinated

(IsraelNN.com) Syrian President Bashar Assad's top aide and adviser, General Mohammed Suleiman, was assassinated on Friday, according to Arab news sources.

Suleiman, who was also Syria's liaison officer to the Hizbullah terrorist organization in Lebanon, was shot and killed by an unidentified sniper in the Syrian port city of Tartous.

Syrian authorities tried unsuccessfully to prevent publication of the news. The country's Albawaba newspaper, which reported the incident, speculated that Israel might have been behind the killing.

Both Albawaba and the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper raised the issue of last February's assassination of Hizbullah second-in-command Imad Mughniyeh, who died in a car bombing in Damascus. Syria blamed Israel for the killing, but Jerusalem denied any involvement.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend” concept applied.

Agreed.

We had a president that sold us down the river further than Mahsood ever did.

Agreed. Clinton and his third way socialist cohorts are traitors to morality and our interests.

17 Saudis were arrested on charges of involvement in Mughniyah’s assassination. I heard they think some prince (Bandar I think his name was) masterminded the whole thing. 10 bucks they did this too.

Isn’t that the man who was married to Syrian President’s sister? If he is that man he is the man who has been running Syria....so I’d say it could have been the President himself who had him killed. I thought the President also had that old terrorist killed.

No that was Wasif Shwaykat. He was accused of planning a coup d'etat and of being involved with Mughniyah's death.

I should correct myself when I said “17” were arrested...I don’t know where I’m remembering that number from. Turns out it was just one guy.

Mahsood was a fanatic Muslim and as such brutal and ruthless.

Yes, but at the time the Taliban assassinated him, he was OUR fanatic, brutal and ruthless Muslim!
