As a result of abortion, we have lost family members, friends, and connections. There are millions of relationships, both online and offline, that simply don’t exist because we’ve been systematically eliminating part of our population. The greatest nation in the world has been impoverished by that compassion deficit that abortion creates.

Excellent point!

Where are My Facebook and Myspace Friends? Missing Because of Abortion

Geez, I thought only liberals used ridiculous hyperbole to make a point.

Pro-lifers on Facebook and MySpace should create pages for those killed by abortion, indicating when they died, in what state, what they might have been interested in, cures for cancer they might have discovered, etc.

According to the statistical record available, there have been 50 million abortions in the united States since 1973.

These records do not include the State of California, which does not publish abortion records, nor provide them to the CDC.

The numbers we have are provided by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, which is a subsidiary of Planned Parenthood. Therefore, the tendency to underreport is already built-in.

But the fifty million that is even acknowledged happened over 35 years. That means that females aborted from 1973 to 1991 would now be in childbearing age range. One could project that another 10-15 million of second generation children are missing due to the cutting off of female children in the early years of abortion.

Now we are missing 60-65 million people, or more due to the undercounting already in the reporting system.

That 20% of America.

And that’s one reason we are importing slave labor in the form of illegal immigration.

I’ve often thought of this when I heard of some 30 something year old woman who can’t find someone to marry? Perhaps they just weren’t allowed to be born?

That’s true but the 40 million abortions since the early 70’s in the usa have also certainly deprived us of creeps, lowlifes, criminals and other unsavory types, too.

It’s kind of silly to lament all the positive aspects lost and at the same time not entertain the clear truth that we lost a good share of antisocial members of society.

One can be against abortion, like me, and still find this type of heart-tugging a silly and immature exercise.

Frankly, I think this argument might fall on deaf ears among those who are not already against abortion. After all, is there really any emotional appeal behind an argument that "there just aren't enough people on Facebook! WAH!"

In the Middle Ages, a person was lucky to know 200 people, and Facebook has 30,000,000 from whom a person can choose--and the author is saying, "

There's also the fallacy that every person born in the US since 1973 would be on Facebook. The author claims:

In other words, if all those aborted babies had had a chance to live, Facebook would be more than double its size.
That's simply not true, or Facebook would already be more than double its size, as there have been more than 130 million live births in the US since 1973. Then, factor in the point that many Facebook members are NOT from the US. Then, factor in that the Terms of Service of Facebook do not allow members under age 13, and there goes another of her chunk. Etc.

Yes, there might have been someone aborted who could have been her friend on Facebook...but that doesn't justify cooking the numbers and making it look like the fight against abortion builds on dishonesty and "not enough people on Facebook."

they do that at some high school graduations by placing empty chairs for those aborted who could have been there graduating too.
