Ex-wife, kids accuse FLDS polygamous sect foe Fischer of abuse

A Utah entrepreneur who has waged a public campaign to assist teens who fled or were kicked out of a polygamous sect was an abusive father and husband who abandoned some of his own children, according to affidavits submitted Thursday to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The allegations against Dan Fischer, founder of South Jordan-based Ultradent Products Inc., are detailed in sworn statements from a former wife, three children, three siblings and others familiar with his family.

Fischer testified before the committee July 24 in a hearing requested by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who is pushing for a federal investigation of the FLDS.

The 14 affidavits were submitted by Rod Parker, a Salt Lake City lawyer and spokesman for the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Six affidavits also were posted Thursday on an FLDS Web site, truthwillprevail.org.

Yes, it is very easy to condemn someone who has come out of the FLDS lifestyle and is now trying to help those who have been cast away by the FLDS. What has LDS Inc. done for these lost boys........crickets.......crickets....... I remember the story where the LDS were embarrassed by request from the women and children of the Texas compound to assist them to be able to even pray!

“I remember the story where the LDS were embarrassed by request from the women and children of the Texas compound to assist them to be able to even pray!”

Karnak says: “Why would the LDS go out of their way to educate the public of the fact that they had ‘excommunicated’ the FLDS?

“Could it be just another flds publicity stunt? “

You’re not implying the FLDS would ‘try’ the case in the public venue, like they did in 1952, and were successful?

“I wonder how it’ll go with the Boston Butt I’m making tonight.”

Man, I sure hope that’s some kind of food.

: )

You said ‘pray’.

Did you mean ‘pay’?

Because that is what I read , IIRC.

It’s Saturday night, you never know ;-)

Actually, it’s a real simple, simply delicious meat:

1 Boston Butt
Worcestershire sauce
Brown Sugar
Apple Juice

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Soak Boston Butt in Worcestershire Sauce. Remove and coat with Brown Sugar to form a crust. Place in casserole dish. Pour about a cup of Apple Juice into casserole and cover.

Place in oven, turn heat down to 200 degrees, and bake about 5 hours. Meat should be so tender it falls apart easily.

No, I meant pray. Early on the women had asked for LDS to act as a shield so they could pray.

“Preheat oven to 400 degrees.”

I tried that once. Charcoal bricquets and starter fluid, in the bottom of the stove.

Fire department showed up, and the kitchen was a smoky, wet mess.

If you can’t just throw it in a microwave, I’m screwed.

Thanks. I heard something about that, but guess I missed the details.

I also heard they asked for financial support, and were denied.

Charcoal bricquets and starter fluid, in the bottom of the stove.

Ooops, that's a no-no.

"Fire of the Stove" is a common FD call. Let me know if you're ever in this neck of the woods, I'll make you one.

And we’ve learned that the little girl that Warren Jeffs kissed for the wedding photographer had a baby when she was 15.

It goes like this....

If something reflects negatively on the cultists, it’s a lie.

If something reflects positively on the cultists, it’s the truth.

If something reflects negatively on the non-cultists, it’s the truth.

If something reflects positively on the non-cultists, it’s a lie.

Yummy sounding ...

Must try that ...

Family were here today for the 100 Anniversary of my Dad’s b rth,,,July 30, 1908..

He died at age 85, but he taught me so much as I was growing up....

It’s partly his fault my Christianity is straight...

I baked a Leg of Lamb, (well done, he was British) with gravy, mint sauce, potatoes and peas, and made a trifle ..his favorite dessert...

:)

I’ve read of families within the FLDS where the mother allows her young daughter to marry the stepfather. This then means that both the mother and the daughter are married to the same man. You may not understand how this could happen. But if you are raised in an atmosphere where natural societal norms are ignored, this type of marital incest is not only possible, but is sanctioned by stating it is required by the tenets of the religion.

LOL, I went to Publix today. It's the only store in the area that has lamb . . . sometimes. Pork and chicken are popular here. Well, they had one leg left and since I haven't had lamb in such a long time, I bought it. And because I didn't have enough room in the freezer, I cooked it. Took off the bone and stuffed it with onions, garlic and fresh rosemary from the garden. Oh, the house smelled so good as it roasted! There's enough left over that I won't cook the Butt 'til Monday.

It's great that your family gets together to honor your dad. My dad's birthday was July 31, 1907 - he was a Brit too.

I'll always mention to the grandkids that it's "so and so's" birthday but we never have a party. Maybe I'll have to change tradition around here.
