A Fine-Tuned Fiddle

Well FReepers, we've been played like a fine-tuned fiddle. The Pubbies in the house let us down again;. A swell publicity stunt to get drilling going again, and it turns out they were just screwing with us about having a set of rocks.
They deserted us at the first sign of shot. And we ran up a multi-thousand post thread in hopes that they final got it.
They did not. They screwed us. Again.

By all means, keep the pressure on. I'm behind you. I wish the Pubbies in the House were too, but I doubt it.
I guess maybe I'm whining?

They deserted us at the first sign of shot.Nah, I liked the whole idea. It got coverage and will still be talked about while the RATS are at home reading what's left of the NY Times while sipping on their Mint Juleps.
My suggestion - start the floor debate again - one day prior to congress returning from vacation. RATS are on the ropes - keep them there...

I liked it too. It’s too bad the Dems were right, and it was merely a publicity stunt.

You were expecting something else? The jello-spined cowards we've got in the Congress spent their majority groveling before the socialists, why would they change now that they're in the minority?
Democrats are loons. Republicans are pussies. Conservatives don't have a voice anymore.

start the floor debate again - first thing Monday morning
To: IronJack
Hey! Jack!
Truthfully, I was expecting it. But I thought maybe I was being too cynical. Guess I was wrong, huh?
I need to start printing up Cynical Tickets and selling them, so I can make a buck off it....

I'm not whining. I'm just pointing out you've been played like a fool.Like I said I didn't participate and thus have not been played for a fool, but I guess you were and you seem to have the need to wring your hands in public about it.

...it was merely a publicity stunt.Sometimes stunts work (just like 9% Pelosi standing in front of some Exxon sign PROMISING gas prices coming down if she rules.)
It's a sign of a pulse. Now even Hussein Obomber likes the idea of off shore drilling. Who knew THAT was coming?
America can become an oil/energy superpower - and the gridlock RATS are blocking it? Not too smart...

As usual, you haven't got a clue. Do you have my phone record?
Your crappy line of attack leaves me no good way out, either I participated, in which case I am wringing my hands, or I did not, and I am a side-liner. Do you work for CNN? MSM trained? Or just a jerk who doesn't have clue #1? Did I ever stop beating my wife?
Go to Hell, OK?

There was hope they would convince President Bush to call Congress back for an emergency session.Suppose, come Monday, Bush calls for an emergency session?
My take is that this was not spontaneous. It was intended to give the president the political cover to call Congress back into session over drilling. Maybe we need to wait until after the Sunday morning talkfests to judge.

You may be right. The Yap Show circuit may not give us what we want. They’ve pretty much gone to the dark side, but I’m hopeful.

I’m just sayin’ it would be nice, after what they’ve just done that’s about the only way they could fix this thing.
To: the anti-liberal
I agree with you. I wish they were nice. I’ve yet to met a nice politician..they’re all A-holes.

You are right, just in time for dinner, LOL! They should have stayed. Many of us were going to send them dinner. Look what they missed out on the big dopes. : )

Well I was played for a fool. And yeah, I'm going to wring my hands in public about it.
I should've paid attention to the poster who reminded us that the Republican Party controlled the House, the Senate and the presidency for six years. (And where are all the oil rigs and refineries?) And now I fall for this charade of fortitude from the minority/lame-duck party??
Guess I'd better read my tagline again.

I didn't know your version even existed until I stumbled upon it.
