“And when I am president,” Obama said in June in Chicago, “I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies from drilling off Florida’s coasts. That’s how we can protect our coasts and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good.”

This morning, Obama said this: “So what I want to do is just to make sure that we are putting together the kind of comprehensive plan that is going to work. And if you have a package that is offshore drilling only, which is essentially what Bush and McCain have been emphasizing, then I think that that is not going to solve the problem and I would be opposed to that.”

What better way to show two sides on an issue than with a candidates OWN words!

In the plan to drill, the oil companies will be opening up marginal wells that were closed in OK and TX most of them by an Executive Order of Clinton that the House can overturn. If those marginal wells are opened back up, it will amount to more oil then we get from Saudi Arabia.

My question is why haven’t they been opened up sooner and why wasn’t the EO overturned earlier. It took a long time to get pumping limits overturned and then we found out at the State Convention from Sen Inhofe about the marginal wells that need opened.

Don’t know who the fools are that think oil companies are not putting money back into drilling but what we also need is a new refinery since we have not had one for over 30 years thanks to the lack of profit and EPA regulations.
