Well, what can I say... it seems that You Tube doesn't really believe their own press....  I'd like to remind us all of YouTube's policy enforcement -- in their own words... 

General Policy Enforcement Information

How do we implement YouTube's content policies?

The standard of behavior we expect of YouTube users is set out in our Community Guidelines. If a user posts a video or otherwise behaves on the site contrary to these Guidelines, we will generally remove the offending material, and apply a Community Guidelines warning strike against the account of the poster. These strikes stick with the accounts belonging to that user for six months from the date they are received. If a user receives such a strike they will be notified when they next log-in to their YouTube account. For reference, copies of the notice are also sent to the user's email address and YouTube private message inbox.

The first strike on an account is considered a warning. If an account receives two strikes within a six month period, the ability to post new content to YouTube from that account will be temporarily disabled. If there are no further issues, full privileges will be restored automatically after a period. If an account receives a third Community Guidelines strike within six months (before the first strike has expired) the account will be terminated.                       (Oh REALLY!?  Do tell!)

When a user has posting privileges temporarily disabled on one account, for the duration of the suspension that user is also prohibited from posting material to YouTube using any other account. Attempts to circumvent this rule may result in immediate termination without warning of all accounts.

A user whose account has been terminated is prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts.

Serious safety and privacy violations such as threats and harassment may result in immediate termination without prior warning.

In some cases a video may be removed for the safety and privacy of the user who posted the video, due to a third-party privacy complaint, court order or other unintended issues. In these instances, the user will not receive a strike and the account will not be penalized.

How do copyright strikes and community guidelines strikes interact?

YouTube enforces a policy that provides for the termination in appropriate circumstances of subscribers who are repeat infringers. This involves a copyright strike count completely separate from Community Guidelines strikes. Please note that unlike Community Guidelines strikes which expire after six months, copyright strikes do not expire. A copyright strike can only be resolved if the user submits a counter-notification and prevails in that process. Has this always been YouTube's policy?

No, much of this is new. We are currently revamping our policy implementation for greater transparency and a better user experience. We will keep you updated as we make further changes.Last update: April 9, 2008.

According to ABC News:  

Hundreds of thousands of videos are uploaded to YouTube each day and because of the enormous volume of content, YouTube says it is impossible to pre-screen each video before it is posted on the site. YouTube largely depends on users to enforce its community standards.              (Hmmmm...... which users are you listening to?)

Well, as we've seen this month, there are many, MANY YouTube users who, according to the policies stated by YouTube, should be banned.  Sort of makes one wonder whose side they are on in this war, doesn't it?  To my way of thinking, YouTube is the Tokyo Rose of OIF/OEF.

YouTube may not be living up to their words. but we continue to live up to ours.  We will keep up this fight and watch the backs of our good guys and gals with boots on the ground.  This month we flagged, tagged and bagged quite a few hirabists and I am so proud to be able to work with you guys!  So here are the results....

July 2008 Results:

34 Suspensions

With those 34 suspensions, 1224 videos were removed from YouTube:

Good results, yes, but there are some things to be concerned about as well...

From July 1 thru the 15th the individual videos and suspensions was plain ol kickin' booty!

From the 16th on - YouTube seems to have developed a new policy.

 

We currently have at least 20 users with three or more videos smacked down - but no suspensions.

 

jihadiSmackDownoftheday for July = 14  -  last month I believe the number was 30.

Total posted for the month = 165       Smacked down - 101       61% downed

#5) Where it says “please indicate the group attacked” choose National Origin.

#6) Where it says “provide additional information.....” type or copy/paste in the below statement.

Well, I guess we took the guess work out on those videos, all four of Mo0o0hamed's videos from today's ping are gone. Great work! However, it looks like there is still some debate about whether or not the guy is real serious about his hatred and violence promoting and whether he should be suspended or not. Maybe we should spell that one out to them too. So, if you have some flagging gas left in the tank, here are three more videos I flagged as promoting hatred and violence and the additional information I sent with each:

It glorifies terrorism and violence by repeatedly showing the destruction of a civilian vehicle by IED starting at the :33 mark, :37 mark, and :39 mark. It repeats in slow motion at the :40 mark. Additionally, this user has had at least 9 videos removed today for supporting hatred and violence and should be suspended. The rest of his videos promote hatred and violence as well.

It glorifies terrorism and violence by showing the killing of an individual starting at the :17 mark and repeating the killing in slow motion at the :20 mark. Additionally, this user has had at least 9 videos removed today for supporting hatred and violence and should be suspended. The rest of his videos promote hatred and violence as well.

This video promotes hatred and violence by displying the logo of the army of abi bakr al-siddiq (JAM) a terrorist organization. It glorifies terrorism and violence by showing an assault on an iraqi army post. This is the google translation of the title: “Army Salafist Abu Bakr - the attack on the headquarters of renegade guards” Additionally, this user has had at least 9 videos removed today for supporting hatred and violence and should be suspended. The rest of his videos promote hatred and violence as well.

Our troops can't just say, "I don't feel like going out on patrol today", so take a few minutes and smack down some videos.

Very sorry Ladies and Gentlemen. I am not a big fan of excuses, but perhaps some explanation is necessary. I am just returning from a long day of getting ready for school and noticed a note from Star. She will be attending a funeral this weekend and had to leave before today's target list was ready. She was hoping that I would be able to post it. In my head she was leaving tomorrow, so I did not pay real close attention believing the list was in her good hands. Unfortunately, I dropped the ball. And, for that I am sorry.
