Get yourself up to speed by reading this nifty recap from Monday’s Anchorage Daily News. Nutshell version: She fired Walt Monegan, her commissioner of Public Safety, for reasons that are unclear. Monegan claims it was because he refused to fire state trooper Mike Wooten, Palin’s former brother-in-law against whom she’s supposedly had a longstanding vendetta. What’s her problem with Wooten? Like I say, read the ADN piece, which is brimming with colorful nuance involving tasers and “f’ng lead bullets.” She insists the Monegan decision had nothing to do with family issues, but the state legislature voted this week to order a probe, which is probably enough to scare McCain away in case he was thinking of going in this direction.

I'd rather she just skip VP and be president.
I wanted to shoot my monitor ...who was that obnoxious cretin screaming her down?
Leftist MSM hit job. Palin is now tainted, and will not be considered for VP.
Scratch the last conservative.
bttt
Not a very impressive performance for a potential VP.
I think she needs more seasoning. She wilts compared to Bobby Jindal, in my opinion.
I think it is going to be Tom Ridge . . .
apparently the obama camp did not want her as mccain’s vp candidate,
so they sullied her up a bit.
The guy screaming at her is Larry Kudlow of CNBC. He used to be publisher of the National Review.
Tough questions, answers were answered with slang like “cool” and “what does a Vice President actually do?”
Not ready for prime time yet.
If you want a really good female communicator I would go with Heather Wilson of New Mexico. More gravitas.
Palin needs to stay right here in Alaska where her approval rating is like 80%. Actually, all the state repubs & dems feel threatened by her I believe.
Leftist MSM hit job. Palin is now tainted, and will not be considered for VP.
I dont think she’s tainted.
If she would get picked the left would use this all day long.
What, that she fired a jerk?
I think neither of them should be VP. I don’t like Palin’s slang but I don’t like how Jindal speaks much either. Sometimes he sounds like a snake oil-salesman. But I do like him.
I would like Eric Cantor for vice president.
Palin's ethics and personality more than makes up for her lack of public elected experience. Even then, she still has more experience than Obama, she was Mayor and she was head of the oil commission. What executive role has Obama done? McCain needs to pick her. Now. The Rats can't slander her. She would win over the South and the Midwest and take away Hillary votes. She would be a shoo-in for the WH in 2012.
Being Mclaim's VeeP is a career killer..
ALL that are "connected" in Juneau(Ak) are whisling past the cemetary.. ugh.. "smoky room"..
GO GIRL.. watch yer back..
Wrong. If anything, she's been vetted. If this is the best they can come up with, then they have nothing. She probably wasn't planning on being VP anyway in 2008. But whatever happens out of this, she'll be the front-runner in 2012.
Govenor Palin just showed me why she is a possible VP candidate!
She doesn’t give a hoot about national coverage! She is governing just as Jindal does, and doesn’t want anything to do with McCain.
EEE, I agree about Palin. I think she is excellent and she would energize the McCain camp 1000% AND she would ‘get’ those disgruntled Hillaryites (middle aged women who came out in droves for Mrs. Clinton but don’t like the smooth talking, tell ya what ya want hear, BHO). Gov. Palin is perfect (IMO)!
The "Warrior and the Woman" can Win BIG
as a very large fraction of the pro-Hillary frustrated Democrat women
crossover in each of the 50 --not 57 Obama-- states.
