Petition to Urge the Obama Family to Adopt Their New Dog
To: Sen. Obama and family
If Sen. Barack Obama becomes president, he’ll instantly be faced with decisions that will affect millions of Americans. Senator Obama will also soon be making a decision that could affect millions of American dogs. It has been reported that once the election is over, win or lose, the Obamas will be looking for a new four-legged family member (much to his daughters’ delight).
We, the undersigned, urge the Obama family to rescue a homeless dog. Whether they choose to adopt a purebred or a mutt, this action would undoubtedly cause a ripple effect to the benefit of all homeless animals. In a country where millions of dogs are killed each year in shelters, adopting a dog that would not otherwise have a future is a winning choice. Taking a stand by choosing to save a life would set an example of the highest standard.

I heartily disagree...as a rule liberals are not good dog owners (there are exceptions, but in general terms they do not; think "Buddy"). Dog's require responsibility, and forethought. Liberals are generally the people who get dogs for emotional reasons (aww...so cute!) and are the types who adopt Dalmatians after taking the family to see "101 Dalmatians" or adopt a St. Bernard after seeing "Beethoven." When they realize a puppy needs training, discipline and chews things, and ownership no longer "feels good" the dogs end up in the pound and/or in an oven.
I don't think the Obama family is ready for a dog yet.

Muhammed hated dogs, and he said that an angel would not come to your house if you had a dog. He did not approve of keeping a dog in the house. Saudi Arabia has now outlawed taking dogs for walks.
