i will say that SWAT guys are simply the entry teams and are not responsible for the actual intel that leads to an entry.

Do the 'entry teams' get any information on what they are going in for? Any intel on the evidence and probably cause? I should hope that if they kick in someones door they took the time to find out who's dog they are about to shoot and whose kids they are about to point machineguns at and WHY.

If someone kicked in my door and shot my dogs without enough evidence for ONE SIMPLE ARREST... I might be some what sad. I went back and edited things out of the preceding sentence. I have great respect for police when they are 'protecting and serving'. If they start acting Gestapo they get as much respect as Gestapo.

they get all the intel as it pertains to floor plan, how many people might be inside, what they are looking for and where it might be.

but if has gotten to the point of a raid, there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the intel is solid. so the entry team just wants the facts of the raid. they do not care how the intel was received. probable cause is the job of the investigators and all too often, they take the word of drug abusing crackheads who would give up their mother to avoid felony charges.

so they tell the cops what the cops want to hear and there is little follow-up. but this kind of thing is the exception. that is why we read about it in the papers. there are hundreds of raids executed hourly around the country that produce excellent results.

My Soldiers and I did much the same thing in Iraq for about a year. We DID get intel on why we were hitting this particular house, and we also exercised proper restraint against the household and their possessions (they don’t have pets). Very often our intel was wrong, too, and we would hit the wrong house.

These actions by these SWAT teams smacks of amateurish nonsense. Pure fear, lack of professionalism, and most likely a sense of “we can do whatever we want, because no one will questions us.”

These guys are pathetic.
