Please Pray for my husband Dom.He is 50 and had a stroke on Sunday.I have been a freeper for awhile and find enjoyment and great information from my fellow freepers. My husband worked all his life, seven days a week, but we can not afford health insurance and a mortgage.I am so worried about my husband ,he has no vision or hearing in his left side and cannot walk.He also has vertigo, all from the stroke.I was told by the hospital they can take my house and all we saved if I don't make payment.I have been hearing this since Sunday.I have young children and I'm a mess .Please pray for my husband he really needs it.I am sorry if I posted wrong .I am not thinking clearly.Getting him well is what's important. Thank you
Sadly true.
Prayers.... and get a lawyer.
Hospitals will get what they can out of people who don’t know any better. They take less from insurance and medicare than they charge your average person so they can be negotiated with.
There’s no call for you to have to live with that.
Keep us posted.
I am so sorry for your troubles, and have prayed for your husband and you.
I’m quite sure somebody from the hospital is lying to you. I’ve heard that they can’t take your house away.
It makes me sick, too.
Things have got to change.

“Illegals get treated for free.”
Good point.
This makes me very angry: your husband is a hard-working man who has worked his tail off enriching others, and who himself has no health insurance.
I pray not only for you and for Dom, but for God’s judgment against those who have been exploiting him, whoever they are, becoming rich off his sweat and labor, and leaving him high and dry when he needs help the most.
Take heart sister. God is with you, a friend to the friendless, a father to the fatherless, and the advocate of those in need.

Second of all, I did some looking trying to find some guidelines in your state.
(I am assuming you're in PA)
Here is one item I found:
www.haponline.org/downloads/charity_care_and_financial_aid_guidelines_for_pennsylvania_hospitals.pdf
There is some good info here however.
Although I wish I could find anything more recent.
Prayers up, of course. BTT.
Urgent prayers have been sent up for you & your husband!!
I truly pray that you both will feel the comfort & strength of God in your life as you continue through this...
A humble Prayer for You, your Husband, and your Children.
I agree with Badger. I believe there is suppose to be a law that prohibits medical professionals from refusing to provide care to sick or injured.
You might even find something on the hospital website (and look for the Board of Directors or whatever Board they have in the medical profession). They need to know this if that is NOT their policy.
And another 2 cents: if our tax dollars are used for providing health care for illegals and loafers then they should use it to help you and your husband. Please contact not only a lawyer but your state agency to find out how to get help.
Prayers up for you and husband.
God bless you and your husband, and anticipate many prayers.
Heavenly Father, may Your blessings of healing fall upon this man, and may Your angels comfort his loved ones in their time of grief. In Jesus’ blessed name, AMEN

I would talk to a lawyer and see if declaring bankruptcy could save your house.
The insurance situation is so sad... I hear ya. THey channeled me into not being ALLOWED to buy private insurance because I got diagnosed as depressed when docs kept giving me pain meds (Darvocet/vicodin) instead of dealing with my pain issues.
No I’m not hooked, I don’t take them anymore since they finally did surgery to correct the issue. But in the meantime I got the label ‘depressed’ and voila! now that my husband is an independent contractor he cannot buy me anything but the state ‘uninsurable people’ program.
Prayers sent. Place it all before Him, and he will provide.
