How 'bout a great tasting, non-fattening doughnut?

Sounds like a smart move to me! They can get some sales from folks who don’t want to eat the lard bombs anymore, but would love to still have an easy, take-out breakfast.

Eat “unhealthy” I say. The key is not to eat too much and to exercise some. For most this formula will keep one non-obese and diabetes free.

That's OK for some, but that flatbread is poisonos as heck for folks with a gluten allergy.
What I want to see is a doughnut made out of garbanzo bean and tapioca flour.
It can be topped with anything they want ~

Every time Dunkin puts in something that’s not donuts they suck and fail. They need to realize that they’re Dunkin Donuts and stop pretending to be something else. People wanting healthy food don’t go to Dunkin Donuts, people that go to Dunkin Donuts want donuts.

OH! NO!!!!...
Hmm, Donuts.

That’s just *wrong*.
Actually, I think this is kind of silly. If I want something healthy, I make it at home. I imagine most folks who go into Dunkin Donuts are looking for...well...donuts. This isn’t going to appeal to their average consumer, I wouldn’t think.
*sigh* No Dunkin Donuts out here in Washington, and now I’m craving one of their blueberry donuts. And maybe a chocolate cake donut. And their coffee. Mmmm.....

You can bake your own cake doughnuts at home, and use less fattening ingredients. Of course, the flour will always be a major calorie load, but you can use less refined flour, and substitute "Lighter Bake" for some of the oil. And if there is egg, use the liquid egg substitute, which is usually mostly egg whites with a small amount of yolk, or just yellow coloring. It works fine in baking products. You could also substitute the Splenda Sugar Blend for the sweetener. It's a blend of sugar and Splenda, and you use 1/2 of the measure of sugar called for in the recipe.
You can buy the pans from The Bakers Catalogue , in the regular or mini size. Making them yourself means you can make them any flavor you'd like, including apple cider, chocolate, chocolate chip, blueberry, just about anything. They turn out quite tasty!

Many folks will make their own healthy stuff at home, Rosie, but you know there are those folks who run out of the house and don't have time to make breakfast. ;o) It would be nice for them to be able to buy something, and it not be too laden with unhealthy stuff.
What's funny is that I don't particularly like Dunkin Donuts Coffee. Every time I've gotten coffee there, it seems kind of puny to me. Maybe I just make my own a little stronger than most. But I don't care for Starbucks much, either, because it sometimes tastes a little over-roasted. I DO like Starbucks Cafe Verona, though; it's quite tasty. I just don't get the extra latte, macchiato, or whatever that stuff is. It's like a heart attack in a cup, there's so much fat in it!
In the story, it mentions Dunkin doing a low fat Blueberry Muffin. One problem with those is that they make them with so much extra sugar, it's close to the same amount of calories as the original! I DO like their bagels, though, and if you get one without the fatty cream cheese, which they always put TOO much of on, or butter, it's not too unhealthy. But I always have to get a Pumpkin Muffin or Cider Doughnut in the fall; it's just an imperative!

Bears repeating. Anyone on a diet isn’t going to Dunkin Donuts. Bet this new menu fails and is gone in less than a year.

I only go for the coffee and OCCASIONALLY buy ONE toasted coconut donut.
This diet menu will fail their main demo, and will not bring many new people in. Although I do know some female gym rats who may get something else in addition to their DD coffee.
