How many of these Democrats are lawyers who have retained their licenses to practice law?

My grandfather (her father) was one of the first blacks to graduate from Harvard Law School (went on to teach law at the University of Ill. College of Law) and co-authored the brief to the US Supreme Court in Brown v Board of Education. His name was Charles Whitted Quick.

I suspect that that family history plus a bad case of Liberalitis robbed her of reason.

And yes, she's a case - but she stays in Illinois. (Her daughter is a lawyer and I can only imagine what she and her (also a lawyer) husband think of the one, great, and holy Obamessiah).

how ironic that i was just speaking to someone who knew one of the men who flew out of tuskegee to distinguish himself during the second world war. (i had the honor of meeting him before he passed away.)

i often wonder how people like your grandfather were able to keep the faith and persevere under what must have been difficult circumstances. i would bet he’s a great source of inspiration for you.

maybe the liberalitis of the lady in illinois is more personal rather than ideological. (may G-d accompany her.)

American stories are the best. (as bittersweet as they may be.):>)

**If Sen. Coburn were aborting babies for free instead of delivering them, he’d be getting awards instead of ethics complaints.**

God bless Senator Coburn.

Doesn't it almost seem like some kind of weird alien invasion plot to get people to kill their own before they are born?

I almost expect that some birth control pill or something will have the effect of sterilizing humanity by getting into the water (through the septic system) and absorbed by all (via tap or bath water) before realization of what's happening. The end of humanity - new planet to colonize without the bother of killing or overpowering natives.

Or we'll simply sterilize ourselves and the earth will continue without us.

I loved the analogy of Leahy only acting on PBS! So true. So happy to see a politician with some.....er...SNICKERS!

Jesse hasn’t got to this guy!

“In May, Coburn received a strongly worded “final determination” memo threatening him with a Senate censure if he did not stop delivering babies for free….”

No, it should be free abortions. Then he’d be a hero.

TNC hit the nail on the head:

“I thought the Dems wanted “free” health care for everyone.”

And I accidentally parroted you, frank, when you posted:

“Now if he was performing abortions for free you can be sure they would be singing his praises.....”

Remember, the liberal politician never really helps out the less fortunate. Rather he/she buys them off or creates a dependency upon the state.

I understand that, but what does that have to do with
delivery babies for free?

My inexpert thought is that the Democrats want to make it sound like
Coburn might be “buying votes” by doing free medical procedures.

Of course, for many Democrats, the idea of doing something simply
for benevolent purposes, without erecting a new government bureaucracy
and getting healthy subsidies...is simply beyond their grasp.

Especially when they can cobble together some “charge” against
“Dr. No” (Coburn).

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=%22Dr.+No%22+%22Tom+Coburn%22&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&lr=&as_filetype=&ft=i&as_sitesearch=&as_qdr=all&as_rights=&as_occt=any&cr=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&safe=images

Besides, I suspect his attackers are a bit jealous of someone that’s
actually accomplished something in his life, rather than just spending
a whole career in politics.

One of the first stories your search came up with is this from the Washington Pee:
The Senate's Dr. No

Coburn is the most dangerous creature that can come to the Senate, someone simply uninterested in being popular.

I guess if you're not interested in being 'popular' and you deliver babies for free, you're a 'most dangerous creature'!

I agree. Post #36 should definitely appear in a Republican National Committee ad. It just seems like it would be so easy to sink the dims this time around.

That would be nice!

I'd love to see Nancy's face when she first hears/sees it!
