SAUDI Arabia's religious police have banned selling cats and dogs or exercising them in public in the Saudi capital, because of men using them as a means of making passes at women, an official said today.
Othman al-Othman, head of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Riyadh, known as the Muttawa, told the Saudi edition of al-Hayat daily the commission has started enforcing an old religious edict.
He said the commission was implementing a decision taken a month ago by the acting governor of the capital, Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz, adding it followed an old edict issued by the supreme council of Saudi scholars.
The reason behind reinforcing the edict now was a rising fashion among some men using pets in public "to make passes on women and disturb families,'' he said.

ROFL...why don't they just outlaw making the passes instead of animals? DOH!...I know better than to expect rational thought out of a muslim nation.

We have a 10 week old mini dachshund and when we go out with the puppy, I make sure I sit strategically on a bench where “Ruby” can be seen. Keeping the puppy low to the ground is another technique to consider. :)

So if you’re busted in S Arabia with a pet in public, do they:
1) Cut off your head,
2) Cut off your pet’s head
or 3) Both, for good measure.

WTF??? I thought any self-respecting Islamo-facist knew by now that baseball bats were the only acceptable method for picking up women. Now, sheep and little boys are different.....

What happened to that whole thing the somali muslims were complaining that dogs were unclean and against their religion.
CAIR was even involved if I remember correctly. Also, the seeing eye dogs in schools offended muslims. WTH?????

Disgusting excuse for a religion or society. The more I learn about islam and sharia, the more determined I become to fight it and its spread. It's surprising that the brain scrambled libs try so hard to bring islam into our schools and promote tolerance for a belief system that abhors all that liberals believe.

Mr Othman said that the commission has instructed its offices in the capital to tell pet shops "to stop selling cats and dogs''.
And I had planned a barbecue for tonight. Dang! Dog and Cat Kabobs were on the menu, now I'll have to substitute sheep and goats and Uncle Hussein won't be happy about that.

And this is why even though I look and live like a leftist (Vegetarian, cycling instead of driving, alternative music, black clothes, soul patch, hornrim glasses, etc) I will never become one, just because most liberals will bash America at any chance, even if it means overlooking Islamofacism.
