What the video doesn't show is Pogan arresting Long for attempted assault in the third degree, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct - charges that kept the Bloomfield, NJ, man behind bars for 26 hours before his release late Saturday. And how are these charges going to stick in court considering what precipitated the interaction between cyclist and Pogan?

And how are these charges going to stick in court considering what precipitated the interaction between cyclist and Pogan? IMO, they won't. Long will sue, and the taxpayers of NYC will pay the bill.

Who knows? Maybe what precipitated the interaction was the attempted assault on somebody else?

With the existence of this video the charges will not stane up in court, at least not on first appeal. Cops in public places need to be aware of the ubiquity of vidcams.
