After a weekend filled with talk, things have gone silent again in the case of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony, who has been missing since early June.
Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, remains jailed. She's charged with child neglect and lying to authorities after her mother reported the toddler missing.
Today, Casey's brother Lee literally ran from reporters after visiting Casey at the Orange County Jail. They wanted know know more about claims he made to the media over the weekend that his sister gave him the names of friends who know Caylee's alleged baby sitter, Zenaida Gonzalez.
"Two particular people that introduced her to Zenaida because they had children and that's how the connection was made," Lee said.
Casey reportedly said Gonzalez had Caylee.
Casey's mother, Cynthia Anthony, also spoke with the media over the weekend. "Casey is protecting this family, she is protecting Caylee, she is protecting us, she's afraid of speaking to law enforcement," Anthony said.
From behind bars, Anthony says her daughter told her there is a threat against Caylee and the entire Anthony family, and that's the reason she's been misleading or silent on the toddler’s whereabouts. Casey apparently wouldn't say what that threat was.
"I don't want to point fingers at the Orange County Sheriff's Office, but they want their job to be easy, they want an easy answer, if there was an easy answer Casey would have told us a month ago," Cynthia Anthony said.
Casey Anthony reportedly has told investigators nothing new, and her attorney says she's willing to talk to the FBI. At last word, she had made no request to speak with any Federal agents.
She's being held on a $500,000 bond. Her attorney is appealing the amount. But a court of appeals wants the results of a psychiatric evaluation before ruling. Those results will likely be sealed from the public.
It's going to be bad.

I just can’t help but think this is bs. That woman probably did something or knows who did to her little girl. I would think she would have sent the calvary out long before this.

she left the kid in the car and it died of heat exposure, while free wheelin’ mama was drinking/drugging somewhere.
then she tried to cover it up by tossing the kid’s body somewhere.

The sudden silence must mean that the little girl is another love child of John Edwards...
This case has made no sense from the very beginning.
The bottom line is, if a mother suddenly realizes that her child is missing, her first obligation is to get herself to the nearest law enforcement office and report that child missing, and give any and ALL information that might be helpful in finding and recovering the child, hopefully still alive.
IF Caylee Anthony is still alive, each and every day her mother refuses to open her mouth and tell the truth reduces the odds that her child will be found safe and sound.
I fear the worst for that child. God help her.
I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually murdered Caylee. What I have read brings back memories of Susan Smith. Sounds like the mother had just taken up with a new man. Maybe he didnt like Caylee around so she decided to dispose of her. She sure doesn’t sound bonded to her child. She just wants her new boyfriend, doesnt even ask how the search for Caylee is going.
Of course that is because she knows what happened.
A little bit of new info about the mysterious babysitter.
I find it hard to believe that no one has come forward to say they know this person or even met her, if she exists.
Sounds entirely plausible. We’ll know eventually when the mother inevitably cracks under pressure.
I’m afraid I’ve lost count of the number of members of this family who belong in a secure psychiatric facility.
You bet she knows what happened.
There is no remorse of concern about her daughter. All she wanted was her boyfriend’s phone number. She just wants to get on with her life without this daughter. She’s probably relieved that the daughter is probably dead - by her hand and they can’t figure out what happened to the body.
I heard that Casey talked a lot about her boyfriend. Maybe another Susan Smith type deal. A boyfriend who happened to mention he didn’t want kids, so Mom made sure there would be no kid.
These two deserve each other. That poor little girl never had a chance in this toxic environment with the mind games.
That is exactly what I thought when I first heard this story. She was partying or shopping and left the child in a car. They have invented some elaborate conspiracy against the family to cover for this that a 3rd-grade child wouldn’t believe. It is almost OJ-esque in nature when analyzing the fantastic claims made by each.
I agree. This whole case disgusts me from the mother and father to the selfish bitch of a daughter. I wish the brother would come forth and tell the truth. Casey being pissed because everyone was MORE concerned about the whereabouts of Caylee proves (to me) that she has a lot of splainin’ to do.
I’m with you, and I think the Grandmother knows what happened but doesn’t want to admit it.
