Ain’t it just great that this MikeFrancesca.com dude signs up a week ago at FR, only to advertise his own rumor blog?

John McCain will announce on Monday that Colin Powell has accepted his invitation to be his Vice-Presidential Nominee If this is true it would be a huge mistake.
If this is a false rumor I won't have a very high opinion of "your sources".

He did give McCain $2300 so I don't think he'd be Obama's VP.I think it was Bob Novak who wrote recently that both McCain and Obama were seeking Powell's endorsement.
Powell, having a high opinion of himself, likes to be stroked.
Consider this "rumor" part of the stroking.

Colin could have had the top spot on the ticket back in 2000 and the Republican party would have stampeded to the polls to vote for him, regardless of what the black vote did or didn’t do.
He blew it off.
Sorry, that moment has passed.
No, I don’t think this is true, and I hope its not.
Besides, I still have five bucks on Lieberman. Not because I want him to get the nod, I just think that has been McCain’s plan all along.

Dick Morris said this was McCains best shot! Dick Morris also said Hillary would never run for senator from NY. His 15 mins are way over.

A month ago, it was Huckabee. Last week, it was Romney. Now, it’s Powell. They are just rumors.

Sounds like a trial balloon that’s going down like the Hindenburgh.

Other than the fact that Colin Powell has been repeatedly asked and just as repeatedly stated he isn’t interested. this rumor could be true. < / sarcasm >

...its a lot smarter to let the Dems pick theirs before McCain announces his. Just think... if not for the 12th Amendment, we'd be stuck with both McCain *and* Obama.

Not good news to me. Powell is as “conservative” as Mr. McCain and just as “smart”.

Assuming 5 of the members of SCOTUS chose to allow it to be honored.
