Kids were practicing a scene from ‘Annie’? Are you sure this was a church?
Yall don’t ever get on that kid again about sleeping in:’)
Three words:
Unitarian Universalist Church
(Having said that, I still offer a prayer for all involved. Very sad, when you gotta be armed just to go to church.)
ROP ?
I suppose for a UUC, Annie would be quite appropriate.
One of my ancestors was a preacher on the frontier in the 1790s, and everyone brought their guns to church. Not a bad idea even today.
Many professors from the nearby University of Tennessee attended this church. In fact, the man who tackled the gunman was a UT history professor.
Our congregation is recovering from the violent incident
that occurred during this morning's worship service.
Please keep us in your prayers.
We will post more information here shortly.
Thanks for your continued support.
From your church's website.
God bless your family and please send our condolences to your congregation. Thank God that they chose to fight back against this awful act...
Whoa...
Your relief must be profound.
Prayers for all involved.
Any word yet on motive?
There is a description at the link. Not good.
The local radio station is broadcasting from the police station but there is no word as to motive or who the guy is.
I heard one eyewitness said he never saw hime before.
Prayers up for the victims.
That being said, the term “Church” is relative in the case of Unitarian Universalists...and certainly nothing “Christian” about it.
Yes, make sure you issue your opinion. Bad things happen to good people—prayers for all.
Nothing about a hate crime? If his had been a mosque or temple it most definitely would have been called a hate crime. Instantly.
a man walked into the church while children were performing a scene from “Annie” and began firing a shotgun,
This guy must have really hated Annie to open fire like that.
