This is what it’s all about folks. Any guy entering a church brandishing a shotgun should be dead meat before he can raise it and fire.
We hear talk about how terrible it would be to return to the wild west days. I doubt too many people were walking into churches in those days gunning down people for the sport of it.

So do you spend every moment of the service watching every entrance for gun brandishing maniacs? I know I don’t, primarily because it happens so rarely.
This nation has long been in need of a good dose of “.44 Law.”
highly unlikely at a Unitarian church
So how many times does your wife have to say "Doughty, put that gun away" when you whip out your sidearm every time someone walks in the door, sticks his hand inside his coat, and puts out his donation envelope?
Hah! The wild west was safer.
I’m one of half a dozen (including the Pastor!) in our small congreation who are CCW holders and CERTAIN to be armed 100% of the time. This guy would have “possibly” gotten off a round before somebody in my group popped him, but I doubt he would have wounded half a dozen people. It’s hard to say though with a shotgun.
Agree. But do the Unitarians typically support the RKBA, the Death Penalty, and the right to self-defense?
Generally, my perception is that they're more often the fuzzy leftist sort, and prone to be against such things.
That might be just a Left Coast anomally, as I've no familiarity with the UU's at any "official" level, but that's my perception.
