[Former Senator] Gravel: Take Bush to The Hague
Press TV ^ | Sat, 26 Jul 2008 22:48:20

Former Democratic candidate Mike Gravel says President George W. Bush should be taken to The Hague for war crimes rather than being impeached.

In a Monday video conference with Press TV, the former Alaska senator said President Bush does not 'deserve' to be impeached for invading Afghanistan and Iraq, which has resulted in the loss of 'millions of lives'.

"An Impeachment just means you would only take away his (Bush's) presidency. Well, he is almost done (with) his presidency. What really needs to happen is that these people have to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed," the 78-year-old Democrat said referring to the US president and Vice President Dick Cheney.

"If you impeach president and vice president, Nancy Pelosi is going to become president; that is not going happen," Gravel added.

Gravel is an outspoken advocate of impeaching Bush and Cheney over the disinformation campaign they have led in support of their go-to-war policies.

"There is a lot of very good news that makes me tremendously hopeful that we as a nation are starting to wake up and insist our congressional representatives act to make impeachment happen now," he had said in a statement in January after congressman Dennis Kucinich announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment against President Bush.

I guess this guy is like George Constanza: it’s not a lie if you believe it.

Who would be worse?

Obama or Pelousie?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Kucinich started up on that impeachment circle jerk again the other day.

When will these idiots give it up?

They waste time on impeachment hearings when the man only has a few months to go and steroid hearings, like it’s a matter of life and death whether or not athletes are on steroids.

I don’t give a damn and I’m sure many other Americans don’t give a damn about all this stuff they waste so much time & money on.

The things these people waste time on instead of actually trying to solve any real problems is too much for me to wrap my mind around.

What a shame he didn’t get the nomination. Think of the speeches he’d be giving about now.

To think Bush had to reach across the aisle to nuts like this.

Gravel is obviously frustrated and trying to get attention. Remember that Zen-like commercial he did where he dropped a large rock in a lake?... symbolized his political career.

“These people are completely deranged.”

Yes, they ARE - and completely blinded by the most vicious hatred I’ve ever seen. At the expense of the American people who elected them to get constructive things done in congress. I’ve often said that while most of us greatly disliked and totally disrespected Bill Clinton (with good reason), we didn’t hate him to the point of wishing him bodily harm or worse (which GW’s haters DO, literally).

I’ve never seen anything like this, and so undeserved, to the degree that it pervasively and obsessively is.

Excuse me, but WTF is wrong with the Dim Dhims? Are they completely detached from reality?

When did the world become like this?

This(the detachment from reality, total lack of common sense) is the big or major issue of our time when your fellow countrymen are incapable or desirious of defending their own country and survival.

I’m sorry, I just don’t get it. Again, WTF is wrong with these people?

They are totally insane, suicidal.

Guys like Gravel will not be happy till we have a full scale insurrection of some sort. I don't know how it will start or end ,but I know I am on the side with the most firepower.

Kucinich started up on that impeachment circle jerk again the other day.”

Saw it, made me physically ill. And John Conyers, presiding over it, is beyond belief. Major barf.

Not only another GW-hate-motivated, obscene waste of taxpayers’ money, but it’s once again cheating them out of addressing serious issues on voters’ minds such as ENERGY plans (much like they stubbornly refused to deal with FISA for months, and still ignore the Columbia Free Trade Agreement).

And now they’re getting ready to go on a LONG summer break. This is beyond disgraceful, the rogues in this congress (Pelosi leading), along with those in the senate, specifically Harry Reid, are the ones who should be put through proceedings to remove THEM from office - this persistent, hateful, stubborn misbehavior of putting personal politics ahead of the good of their constituents and the country, is treasonous, in my opinion.
