Carolyn Sharps beloved greyhound Starr was 4 years old when she was diagnosed with a deadly form of cancer.
Sharp decided the two of them would stay together as long as Starr was not suffering too much. The greyhound received radiation treatments and pain patches for several months until the veterinarian told Sharp it was time to end it.
When we went in for the last time, I held her in my arms for the comfort of both of us until she had left, said Sharp, who lives in Overland Park. I have still not really made peace with losing her so young.
Eight years later she still doesnt understand the why. But she is certain shell hold Starr again in an afterlife.
I believe Ill have three cats and a whole bunch of dogs waiting for me, Sharp said.
Is there an afterlife for animals? Or as a popular question puts it, Do all dogs go to heaven?
Jack Vinyardi of Kansas City, an ordained interfaith chaplain of pets, said he is asked that question all the time as he comforts people about to lose or who have lost a pet.

Your position is about where I am. Animals (probably) don’t enter Heaven, but God didn’t make them to die, so where do they go? In Revelation, we’re shown a new Heaven and a new Earth. Earth was intended to be populated with animals, so why not use the ones there are, that we already love? I’m not sure what provision God made for his other creatures, but I am sure He made one.
So, while I’m not certain of being reunited with my pets, I’m not without hope of it.
On a lighter note, Kitty Heaven is the same place as Mouse Hell.
No, they will thank you for ending their lives with compassion instead of letting them go on in pain and suffering.
I think that, by definition, if there is a Heaven at all, then there must be a place there for your cherished pets.
If your beloved pets can’t be in Heaven with you, then it really isn’t Heaven.
‘nuff said . . .
If you ain’t Cryin’ You LYIN’!Thanks for your service
Out of the blue, about ten years ago, I decided in an instant I wanted a dog. My husband didn't want a dog, but I persisted. I had never had a pet growing up and always wanted one. That's when Lily (the white maltipoo)came into our lives. Immediately after we got her, both my Mom and Dad became ill and moved in with us! Some days, the only happiness I had was when I looked at the adorable little dog. She sat with my Dad and kept him company until the day he died, and then, for the next six years, she sat under my Mom's recliner and kept her company until the day she died.
I believe God sent her to us. I truly do.
Daisy, the Schitzu, came into our lives in 2003. Another snap decision on my part and, again, my husband was against it. Needless to say, you cannot part Daisy and my husband now! Sometimes I think he loves her more than he loves me! LOL! They are totally inseparable!
My husband always says God will put me in charge of the animals in Heaven. LOL
My sister says that, if dogs have a different heaven, that’s the one she wants to go to.
In the fourth grade Sister Mary Michelle told me “yes”, but she may just have been being nice. Over time, I have become more skeptical of the theological pronouncements of the good Sisters.
Your dog is incapable of sin. Your dog is not an atheist. That's just a projected fantasy on your part.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee; Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In Whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. - Job 12: 7-10
Try reading the book, before heaping such ignorant scorn upon it and those who strive to follow it. You might learn something.
What is forever?
Sure they do. Old grunts too.

I’ve read the book many times. And other similar books. Your remark was the ignorant one.
The quote you lifted from Job 12 says nothing about the “souls” of animals going to heaven, nor is there even such an inference to be drawn from that. But I do think the one line that reads “In Whose hand is the soul of every living thing . . . .” begs an interesting question. Certainly it makes no sense to say that every living thing has a “soul.” Slugs, cockroaches, tulips, E. coli bacteria? Kind of demeans the meaning of the term “soul” if you ask me. Of course, if you ask me, there is no such thing as a “soul,” or at least nothing independent of the physical body that would survive death. Heaven and hell are fantasies.

no, your dog is not agnostic...

It is hyperbole, i.e. intended to create a strong impression, by definition not meant to be taken literally.
I know you didn't make the rules. Nevertheless, it seems to me you must accept that your faith describes a deity which does exactly what I stated in post #109. You also must believe that burning most of humanity forever in a furnace of fire is a righteous fate.
it's in your pride and arrogance that you do not accept God's way of Salvation.
Were Jewish Holocaust victims prideful and arrogant for not accepting Salvation? Do you think eternal torment is a just fate for them?
Your assertion was not that there is no proof of heaven; your assertion is that "there is no such thing."
"and we are justified in believing it to be true, unless and until someone produces one."
Again, you haven't stated that you believe there is no such thing as heaven; you have indeed stated that
"once your vitals stop, you no longer exist. Period."
There is no declaration of belief in the above sentence. You have stated your assertion as fact. As such, the burden of proof remains on you...and I once again urge you to back up your assertion with proof.
