IMO, the NRA should steer clear of issues connecting a right to own firearms with any identifiable class of citizen. The right is for all citizens, regardless of status (excepting convicted criminals and mentally unstable). Getting mixed up with racial, ethnic, or status class arguments only dilutes the argument. Besides, there’s most likely an ulterior motive here.

The guy makes his point, but the piece is poorly written.

I had the pleasure of getting into it recently with an anti-gun zealot on another forum who complained that DC v Heller was a fiendishly orchestrated effort bankrolled by a wealthy radical to get a case before the high court where the majority of justices waited in the batting cages ready to knock the 'long-standing collective rights position' up into the cheap seats.

I replied "Yep. I think the left wing calls that 'direct action'. Two can play at that game, hippie."

Let someone else intellectually argue with a whiny liberal that the rest of the Bill Of Rights where 'the people' are mentioned refer solely to individual rights and touch on the topic of the racist roots of gun control. I'd rather just throw a piss balloon at them these days.
