WASHINGTON - Federal regulators have formally approved the merger of the nation's only two satellite radio operators, ending a 16-month-long drama closely watched by Washington and Wall Street.
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.'s $3.6 billion buyout of rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. will mean 18 million-plus subscribers will be able to receive programming from both services. Executives say it will mean huge cost savings that will lead to a first-ever profit for the relatively nascent industry.

do they have rush, bor, handel, prager, john and ken, ...
on satellite?
Wanna winning stock bet? How about picking up a few shares before the Dims impose the “Fairness Doctrine” and drive Rush, Sean, Boortz, etc to satellite...
i listen to my tv-viewer, democrat friends and they all say
that “rush shouldn’t be able to say those things”,
what things? i ask. they dunno. they don’t listen to rush.
but they’re picking up from their tv sets the idea that
conservatives should not be on the air.
you mean in the middle of utah
or the navajo res in arizona?
there is no there, there!
Part of the "deal" is that a chunk of channel has to be "allocated" for "minority" programming. You and I will be forced to subsidize programming that we don't have any interest in hearing so the "deal" can go forward. Trash that couldn't survive on commercial radio will get subsidized spectrum. Trash like Air America. Another part of the "deal" is that new satellite radios have to be equipped to receive the new terrestrial digital HD radio. HD radio has few devices available for consumers, so few commercial radio stations have invested in the technology. I've seen a Sony table radio with HD capability on clearance. Nobody would buy it. No stations on the air in the store's community.
that’s a few.
thanks.
You’re welcome. Plus there are cable news channels:
When I want to tune everything else out, I listen to Sinatra:

Cigar Dave - aka "The General" - is all about good cigars and skewering the nanny state. He can be heard Saturdays on XM-166. Then there's Gun Talk on Sunday, and Bob Brinker on Sat. and Sunday.
I'm sure there are such gems on Sirius, as well.
By "minority" and "non-profit groups" they of course mean liberal activist groups and other assorted vassals of the Democratic Party. When public-choice theorists get around to writing their encyclopedia, in the entry for "rent-seeking" the FCC's and the National Association of Broadcasters' behavior with respect to this merger will be prominently featured. Come on, a $19.7 fine and having to give away part of your business (one Democrat commissioner was asking for 25%) to the Democratic Party ?!
Sirius patriot radio:
Cam and Company (2nd amendment activist show/ NRA NEWS), Andrew Wilkow, Mike Church, Bill Bennett, Michael Reagan, Liddy, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Cigar Dave
I get Liddy and Hannity on XM. Are they on Sirius too?
agree.
i thought the same when he got his recent contract; those companies aren’t going to invest that kind of money in him
if they thought he was going to be dislodged by the liberals.
