The U.S. Senate soon could be debating whether you, your spouse and each of your children – as well as your in-laws, parents, grandparents, neighbors and everyone else in America – each will be spending $2,500 or more to reduce poverty around the world.

The plan sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee for the office of president, is estimated to cost the United States some $845 billion over the coming few years in an effort to raise the standard of living around the globe.

Barack Obama

S.2433 already has been approved in one form by the U.S. House of Representatives, and now has been placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar for pending debate.

Reducing poverty my making one despot at a time rich. Good plan. Let’s just give every one in the world $10 million.

In addition to being an appalling bit of legislation, this is another giant gift to the McCain campaign and GOP... what will they do with it?

The United States is already the most generous nation on earth when it comes to helping the world’s poor.

As Mike Rowe said in a recent “green” episode of Dirty Jobs...people would rather be motivated rather than lectured, meaning that people are motivated to help. If you make them do it, there will only be resentment.

You never know. Chances are the Republican campaigners are gathering all the ammo they can. Maybe the reason we don’t hear about it is because the campaign is running a tight ship and doesn’t want any leaks or ammo for the Obama campaign.

We could probably save a few billion if we were to just wire it to the appropriate Swiss bank accounts instead of making the recipients have to launder it before sending it to Switzerland.

The best thing that could happen to the poor in the world is the expansion of capitalism. I hate to say it but it looks like the communist Chinese are the ones most likely to do that into places like Africa.

So then, spending money to bring Freedom to Iraq and raise the standard of living in Iraq is bad. But just giving money to a corrupt organization like the UN or simply giving it to corrupt dictators who will continue to repress and, gulp, actually torture (real torture, not loud music torture) is just fine and dandy.

Please Barak, continue to show us your change and hope. I have a feeling the more you do, the less the voters will like it.

Probably little and if they do anything, it will be ignored or buried by the Obama MSM.

NOW you see why you whiners need to vote McCain 08??!!

What I dont get is why the McCain campaign is failing to point out the most important failings in Obama:

1. BARAKH HUSSEIN OSAMA is a MUSLIM! Want this guy directing your war on terror?

2. He is a rabid leftist

3. He is a radicalised African American, with black power movement type hatred for other nationalities.

4. He talks nonsense. Hope. CHange Hope. Change. Change to hope. Hope to change. Nonsense.

WHATS MCCAIN DOING?? TIME FOR INSANE MCCAIN!

McCain will of course, fumble this away too.

His campaign is starting to make Bob Dole’s look competent.

How many people in our own country are below the poverty line?

There are going to be more if we allow Obama to get elected and raise our taxes for bullsh*t like this....

...what will they do with it?

Either A) not show up for the vote and allow it to pass, or B) show up and vote for it seem to be the most likely choices from his voting history.
