Who eats soy? Radical vegetarians for the most part.

I'm about as carnivorous as you can get, and I crush sushi with soy sauce at least 2-3 times a week.

This is a load of nonsense and it’s been brought out by some of the so-called “Survivalists” that took over the real survival lists many years ago, before the internet got big.

Our lists were taken over by kooks and creeps who were anti-government, and were complaining about things like fluoride in the water, soy beans, and “government control”, Big Brother, you name it.

Instead of our lists being what they were initially, that is sharing information on how to track animals, kill a deer, and how to prepare the meat, or how to make bows and arrows, we ended up being taken over by idiots and fools who push stupid junk science.

Daddy’s don’t eat soy due to the fact that soy acts like estrogens in the body - that means testosterone to estrogen ratios being out of whack. Which means prostate and other sexual problems. And for goodness sake folks, DO NOT feed young boys ANYTHING with soy.

My husband loves my chocolate pie recipe, but our son won’t eat it now that he knows it has tofu in it.
Easiest pie recipe ever and tastes soooo rich.
Tiny pieces with real whipped cream and raspberries...special treat not served very often.

Well, being made from legumes, it does have some, er... negative effects for some people.

There is no secret to it. I use the basic "impossible pie" recipe from either a box of Bisquick or the Bisquick website and then add what I have on hand.

We wound up having steaks last night, because no one was interested in heating up the kitchen.

If hubby and child don't catch anything on their fishing/crabbing expedition this afternoon I guess that is what will be on the menu for tonight. To the basic egg/milk/bisquick mixture I'll add 1/2 pound crab meat, 10 ounce box of frozen chopped spinach (defrosted and squeezed out) and 4 or 5 slices of swiss cheese (diced).

While you're at it, I'd be very interested in your recipe/proportions of hummus.

I was exaggerating with my 3 cans of beans and 2 heads of garlic, but I do like garlicky hummus.

To 2 cans (15oz) of chickpeas I will add about 4 tablespoons of minced/chopped garlic, up to 1/3 cup of tahini, 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice and about 2-3 tablespoons olive oil. Then I just adjust for taste.

I also make a hummus with black beans, for which I use lime juice instead of lemon and also add a bit of finely minced chile peppers.

Yeah we do :)

I read your previous post. That really bites about your lists being taken over by the weirdos. My husband can field dress and skin a dear, and our 10yo daughter loves to help, and I learned REAL fast how to do much of the butchering. I'm still no expert, but I am getting better with each passing year.

Not too shabby for an "irish" kid from NYC :)

Here’s the chocolate tofu pie recipe.

16 oz. Silken tofu (room temperature)
1 Graham Cracker Crust
1 pkg (12 oz) Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Chips
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions
Mix the room temoperature tofu and vanilla in the blender. (Room temp tofu is important, too cold and it will solidify the chips, resulting in chocolate speckled tofu pie) Put the chocolate chips into the saucepan and cook over medium heat until melted. Add melted chocolate to the blender and mix until smooth. Pour entire mixture into pie crust and refrigerate for about 3 hours. Serve with real whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Enjoy!
