Weaker than you think. The authorities at Landstuhl had a problem with a campaign staffer accompanying the haloed one. That presence would make the visit political. Rather than simply tell the aide to stay behind and go accompanied by senatorial staffers the haloed one bowed out, That’s from a source to NRO from USAF Germany.

It’s a little more than that: NO PRESS WOULD BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE. That is why he didn’t go — he is on his worldwide photo-op tour, so in his mind: screw the troops, give me the photographers.

Thanks for that little tid-bit.

Whatever; he gets faint at the sight of blood. He admitted this at a hospital in Iowa and MO.

That's because, without his handlers, Obama is a gaffe machine ready to implode at any moment.

From MSNBC:

From NBC's Jim Miklaszewski and Courtney Kube A U.S. military official tells NBC News they were making preparations for Sen. Barack Obama to visit wounded troops at the Landstuhl Medical Center at Ramstein, Germany on Friday, but "for some reason the visit was called off."

One military official who was working on the Obama visit said because political candidates are prohibited from using military installations as campaign backdrops, Obama's representatives were told, "he could only bring two or three of his Senate staff member, no campaign officials or workers." In addition, "Obama could not bring any media. Only military photographers would be permitted to record Obama's visit."

The official said "We didn't know why" the request to visit the wounded troops was withdrawn. "He (Obama) was more than welcome. We were all ready for him."

Thank you for that. Very telling. Obama needs ‘handlers’ all the time, he cannot be on his own (or unscripted) for even a moment.

I still wonder what his security background investigation looks like. If I had his past, no way would I get a clearance.
