Talk Radio Network, the syndicator of Michael Savage's "Savage Nation" radio show, issued the following statement today:
On Michael Savage's Autism Comments
There have been numerous calls in recent days for Michael Savage, who hosts “The Michael Savage Show” for Talk Radio Network (the “Network”), to be fired or suspended for his brief 84 seconds of commentary concerning autism during the July 16th broadcast of the Show.
Promptly after the Network’s management learned of the comments in issue, the Network commenced an investigation into the particulars and the circumstances of those comments. This investigation began with the Network’s CEO, Mark Masters, personally contacting Dr. Savage to address the concerns and obtain an explanation of the comments directly from Dr. Savage.
In that conversation, and other subsequent conversations between Mr. Masters and Dr. Savage, Dr. Savage explained the circumstances and intent of his statements in considerable detail. The Network also carefully monitored subsequent broadcasts of the Show, on Monday, July 21st and Tuesday, July 22nd, which were devoted to the subject of autism and further explanations by Dr. Savage of his views on the subject.

You are obviously not grounded in reality. I am for my station to put the Weiner at a time slot where I can hear a real Conservative versus some purposely poor characature of a Conservative.

It would be considered fratricide if one assumed that Weiner was a conservative, but it isn't.
This is precisely the behavior that turned me off about Weiner. To top that, he does all this name calling while hiding behind the name "Savage". His phoneyness is humongous yet so many people can't see through this crap?

No one is talking about his right to free speech. If his show was destroyed by this controversy, he would retain his right to free speech.
The right to free speech does not include the right to a three-hour syndicated radio talk show.

If you weren't too physically and intellectually lazy to look yourself, then you would know that I have never advocated this. In fact, I have explicitly said that I didn't want him fired, but just off of my radio dial between 5 and 7 PM when I drive home. Put him on during the kook hours along with Alex Jones and UFO specialists.
It takes lots of Chutzpah to use the tactics of CAIR and accuse others of employing it. It's called PROJECTION, which is the Weiner way.

Weiner's views change from day to day. He is for the Iraq War one day, then he is against it the next. You only take a snapshot of the "broken clock is correct" time of day.

It's too bad that a so-called "man of science" can't use just a tiny bit of science and common sense and give real stats instead of the "99% of Autistic children are just brats" line. Weiner is Savage's worst enemy.

I don’t agree with everything Savage says or does. Far from it. But he is still a die-hard conservative, if not on every singe issue. He is still right of Rush Limbaugh. Deal with it.
I don’t agree with why Savage donated to Jerry Brown’s AG campaign, but you apparently don’t have any clue why he did it. Savage was impressed when Brown, as Oakland mayor, created the Oakland Military Institute — a college prep school for children grades 6 to 12.
Savage was either fooled by Brown into thinking he changed, or was rewarding Brown for doing something that impressed him.
That you think this single act makes Savage a liberal is proof only of the extent of your insanity.
The guy is rude and abrasive and curt. He does entertain allies like Schumer and Charlie Rangel on specific issues that he is fighting for. I would not engage the enemy just because they are on my side for a single fight, but then I’m an idealist and not as pragmatic as Savage is.
He supported Chuckie Schumer to stop the Dubai Port deal, when Baby Bush’s business interests wanted to profit from it — just like Baby Bush has completely sold us out on immigration? Who is the Conservative there... Savage or Baby Bush.

I found out about this from a friend who has a child who is “borderline autistic”. The child has a chromosomal abnormality but not in the same place as a child diagnosed with autism would. She exhibits the classic symptoms of autism. The doctors don’t want to label her yet...

The rest of what you say actually validates my view of this faux conservative. One of the reasons that Weiner stays afloat on talk radio is claiming that he is Conservative. Claiming that while alone helps him in marketing terms, but when you flip flop on so many issues and statements like he does, than you realize how unique he is expecially against real Conservative talk show hosts who he trashes almost daily. I say almost because he is often not on his own show. What a relief.
Being called a moron by someone who hasn't the ability to see through this ruse is a badge of honor.

FYI, know that although I have my reasons for liking Savage (I've been listening since 1997), I have posted my caveats about talk show hosts before, and Savage in particular. For instance, see this thread.
My doubts about any talk show host would certainly include your buddy Levin too. He's a man who has been nothing but nasty (bitter?) about Savage from the first day I heard him. Since it's Le Vin who makes the more regular stink about Savage rather than the other way round, it seems likely you are more in thrall with Le Vin than I am with Savage. You continue Le Vin's attacks in his absence and I just let your "saint" do his shtick without my commenting on him.
