I think it says quite a bit about him that he couldn't somewhat quietly visit them, but instead gives a 30 minute speech to a sea of German citizens fawning over him.

Maybe he thinks he should go where the votes are. He probably expects more votes from German citizens than American soldiers. . .

Obama can simply proclaim he is not campaigning to give a speech but he can't do the same to visit wounded soldiers.

Better that the kingfish (no caps) skip our wounded military in Germany than treat them the way he did those fighting in Afghanistan. Hope their feelings weren’t hurt because he isn’t worth their refuse - that includes those is Afghanistan too.

I'm glad that he didn't go. The hospitals where our brave wounded are treated are hallowed halls... not to be defiled by the presence of a coward.
