Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to ' The War Zone ' . I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.
As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.
So really he was just here to make a showing for the Americans back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.
I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

Somehow this display, or lack thereof, is more what I expected of the knuckle dragging pretender. I was fairly certain the patriotic pretense was just that—a pretense.
With the power of the internet we will likely hear more interesting stories about being forced to celebrate and gather for Obama etc.

Thanks Ernest, sounds like a modicum of caution is in order.
He's claimed credit for Senate action (e.g., the Banking committee) which he had nothing to do with and it's likely he'll embellish his trip.
He's a flim flam man (I call him the Grand Wallah of Isflam, what he says is flam) who likes to snow people.
So maybe he's also the Obamable Snow Man?
(Someone mentioned the abominable snowman and -- what else -- I thought of Obama and his B.S. I could not find Obamable Snow Man on FR but it is on a couple of sites on the 'Net).
I’m a civilian contractor working for the US Army in Afghanistan.
While I’m not in Bagram right at the moment, I’ve been there three times in the last few months.
The ‘clamshell’ is a gym area at the four corners on Disney right in the center of main base. There is variously basketball or volleyball nets set up there for all of the troops to use. In another clamshell next door are weight machines and the like.
So this much of the original email rings true to me.
I wasn’t there when Obama was there, so I can’t verify the rest... but if the basketball photo shoot was scripted (which we know it was), then the rest of the original email I’m inclined to believe.

From the source I have in Iraq, he met with very few troops, only long enough for a photo op. He spent his time with the politicians and diplomats, thats it.
Said, that Major Garrett was always on. Inferred that the troops were not allowed to change the channel.

It'll be all channels: All Barack Coverage, New Barack Coverage, Masterful News New Barack Central, and Central New News, all the time. And their leading anchor on covering the War will be named Major-Major.
Different man, but same attitude as the Clintons had toward the Military.... non-people. Not even human.
We appreciate you and your efforts, but to Barack Hussein Obama and his ilk, you are just potted plants and window dressing.
