Novak, 77, has earned a reputation around the capital as an aggressive driver, easily identified in his convertible sports car.
In 2001, the longtime political columnist cursed at a pedestrian on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street N.W., for allegedly jaywalking.
Learn to read the signs, [bodily orifice]! Novak snapped before speeding away, according to an item in The Washington Posts Reliable Source column.

Who’d he hit, a McCain staffer source?

In DC, people are notorious for jaywalking or simply walking out into the street without looking, any number of which are actually looking to get hit so that they can cash in on a big insurance settlement (if they survive!).
This is a non-story.

As he traveled east on K. Street, crossing 18th, Bono said a “black Corvette convertible with top closed plowed into the guy. The guy is sort of splayed onto the windshield.
I didnt know I hit him, Novak told Politico. Novak said he was a block away from 18th and K St. NW, where the accident happened, when a bicyclist stopped him and said, “You hit someone.” He said he was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

How can you hit a guy and he rolls off your windshield, and not know you hit him, unless you have been drinking or are on drugs?

If eternal justice could be had here in the temporal, then the pedestrian would have been Helen Thomas.

I saw Mr. Novak tee off on a gate attendant once at the airport. I was stunned by the ferocity of his outburst.
I told him to take it easy on the lady, and he glared at me.
To which I responded, “oooooh.”
What a putz.

I like Novak, read his recent book and hope everyone is fine.
The guy kicks butt and does the real work of journalists that almost none do.
And he was completely right on the Plame game.
