High gas prices are killing the airlines, and Pelosi does nothing. Soon we will be back to stagecoaches. The sad part is that these laid off unionized mechanics probably with their union dues give financial support to the democrats, who are killing off their jobs.

“Soon we will be back to stagecoaches.”

Actually what’s more likely is that after the US airlines go bust, Asian airlines will move in and take over our domestic market.

Must resist the temptation of "schadenfreude"...

What!? And be forced to be served by their cute friendly stewardesses rather than being abused by obnoxous flight attendants US Airlines have devolved into?

Thanx for post.Layoff 1500 mechanics/maint personell?I understand a company needs to cut costs to remain competitive.I have to admit-i find flying stressfull.Understand the basics of aerodynamics and jet propulsion ie what keeps aircraft in the air.Fully cognizant that statistically air travel is safer than driving.Question:I assume they’ll(AA)retain enough mechanics and assorted specialists to ensure their remaining aircraft are airworthy?

They'll all (except for Southwest) declare bankruptcy for the tenth time and keep moving on.

Bugeyes Piglousy doesn’t give a rat’s behind about the Aviation Industry! She has her Private Boeing 757 courtesy of the U.S. Taxpayer! “Let the masses ride bicycles!” is the New Demorat Mantra. Meanwhile she b*tches about not having a “Bidet” in her flying Palace:-) Remember only 149,000 Morons Voted for her out of 300,000,000 Good Citizens of the U.S. I’ll bet she is uglier than a cowpie run over by a wagonwheel when seen up close,UK!:-O

High fuel prices, labor unions ... the LEFT.

They are killing the US airline industry.

But, as soon one else observed, Nancy has her own taxpayer-paid jet, so why does she care?

VOTE THESE INSANE PEOPLE OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!

We are back to “Taxation without Representation.” No one represents us any more.

Bullish. No recession in sight. Pay no attention to the escalation in pending layoffs from GM to Starbucks to the airlines, or the continuing layoffs in financials, real estate and construction.

If the government says inflation is 0.1% and unemployment is 5.1%, then it must be true.

Bullish! Get out there and spend and party like no tomorrow. Max our your credit cars. The economy has never been better. Get a new home. Get two! Best time to buy, EVER!

Oh, certainly. I just take another Qualude and fall in with the other sheep, and repeat,”All is well. The government is here to take care of everything. We are not being sold out. All is well. All is well.”

Of course, my head gets those little lumps on it, and it is tough to drink wearing a straight jacket, but at least I am feel calm and no that “they” are going to make everything WONDERFUL.
